Didn’t we have a lovely time….
…the day we went to Edinburgh.
Sing along!
I’ve tried to give you a feel for our day together but it can’t show the laughter and the smiles. Â We saw the castle, from afar, wandered a bit, found the National Museum of Scotland, and even had time for a trip to the Botanic Gardens. Â Jude is quite a private person and refused to sit on that bench for a photo, but we agreed it was a splendid bench. Â I pinched a discreet shot and I hope she’ll forgive me.
We found the roof terrace of Harvey Nicholls for a celebratory cocktail (thanks, Debs!), moseyed around the corner to an Apothecary Garden that Jude will tell you all about, and ended with a meal in the mezzanine restaurant of the Guildford Arms. Â Then somebody blew the whistle and we had to scurry along the platform of Waverley Station. Â Last swift hugs, and it was over!
Jude is still there, enjoying the sunshine, but I expect you’ll hear more when she returns from the Borders next weekend. Â I’ve still got the swollen hoof so no zumba today, but I did enjoy the reminiscing. Â Don’t suppose you’ll be surprised that it’s an Edinburgh walk next Monday. Â Have a great weekend and I’ll see you then. Â Six words?
Looks like it was a wonderful day! I’ve only managed to meet up with one fellow blogger so far (Marion of Love Travelling). I’d love to be able to meet up with more and have the chance to see things from someone else’s perspective.

It’s interesting, Susan, because we have a lot in common but are obviously all quite different personalities. I’m shockingly nervous about meet ups. The old ‘will they like me?’ raises its head every time. 🙂 🙂

I’m catching up, as usual, but on the plus side I get to move straight on to your Edinburgh Monday walk from here. And yes, thank you, I did sing along and now it’s stuck in my head. (Except it insists on using Bangor when I’d much rather sing Edinburgh.) What a wonderful meeting!

It was really good fun, H, and I’m missing knowing what she’s up to at the minute. Can’t help being the nosy sort 🙂 And I believe you got a mention, along with a vicarious hug. 🙂

Thanks for the lovely snapshot of the city – and the bonus sunshine makes it look even lovelier than it already is. Next time I’m up I must take myself into Edinburgh – maybe my mum would fancy a trip there instead of to the seaside (but probably not!). How lovely to be able to meet up with Jude – I can imagine great fun was had!

It was thick fog all the way there, Elaine, and I thought our weekend was doomed, but as you can see it ‘got out’ 🙂 🙂 Cracking!

That’s often the case with Scotland – it keeps itself hidden most of the time, but when it appears it is magnificent.

I’m waiting to see Jude’s photos, Anna. I’m afraid they’ll put mine to shame. 🙂 It’ll be the first time we’ve been able to make a comparison. Just a little friendly rivalry 🙂 🙂 Sunday hugs, darlin!

I reckon you could keep up, Poppy 🙂 🙂 We should try it some time. Funnily enough your name came up in conversation (re Cornwall, of course) and Jude hadn’t realised you’re ‘out there’ again. I’m informed that I have to travel to the south west for the next meeting, so you never know 🙂 🙂 I keep on calling you Poppy. Would you prefer to be Louise?

Gorgeous photos of Edinburgh Jo! I have only been through there once on the train years ago. I always think it looks so lovely in photos – such elegant buildings and those cocktails what more can one say?! 🙂

Absolutely amazing weather today. Wish I could take more advantage of it but it’s a cooking/washing/ironing day. Keeping half an eye on the Davis Cup tennis and I’m only a week or so away from our next Algarve visit. Life’s not so terrible 🙂 🙂
