Reasons to be cheerful, 1, 2….
It’s been a cold and murky old week here in the north east of England, but are we down-hearted? Reasons to be cheerful this week include a stroll through the back streets of Durham, and a trip to Newcastle-on-Tyne to meet up with a lovely friend. I came across a few Numbers along the way.
Share your ‘reasons to be cheerful’ with Cate at Six Word Saturday. Have a good weekend and I’ll see you on Monday for a cool, English walk.
è molto bello questo tuo modo di rendere preziose le piccole cose, un modo intelligente per conservare la memoria dei giorni

You should catch me on the days when I’m kicking the cat, Sue (or Mick- we don’t have a cat 😦 ) I don’t go Johnny Public with those.

Lovely shots, despite the dismal weather. We are in desperate need of rain here in southern Ontario . Not complaining as the sun has been glorious but the grass & the plants could certainly use a good soaking!

Even the Bryans are chilly while playing the Open doubles final: they’re wearig leggings! And Serena didn’t have her jacket off for the whole tournament.
I loved your number pictures.

Thanks, Viv. 🙂 Didn’t Mugarutha do well? I didn’t intend to watch but was ‘drawn in’. It’s perishing here too. Will be glued to Andy tomorrow.
Nothing from Cate yet? I haven’t checked since lunch time. I think we’ve come to the end of the road.

I like that clock, but who’s on top of it and what’s she up to? It was decidedly naff in Hampshire and nice here while I was there. Not complaining now though x:-)x

Trust you to ask! It’s outside a jewellers- Northern Goldsmiths- and has been there as long as I can remember. No idea of the history but I expect I could Google it, if you’re desperate to know. 🙂 I usually get dull shots of her but I liked that one. The Laing Art Gallery was where I was headed, but ran out of time. Another day! I know, Gilly- I’ll reply this evening. Hugs, darlin’.

Hiya darlin 🙂 No good being mopey, is it? Doesn’t make you any friends. A little bird did tell me we might have sunshine tomorrow, but I hardly dare believe it. 🙂 Thanks- you too!

Sorry to hear that it’s been a rather cold week, but good to hear that you caught up with a friend. Hope you had a great time and the company was great. Lovely set of shots for this challenge, what a coincidence you happened to snap photos of numbers 🙂 Hoppetty House. That is a nice name that rolls off the tongue 😀

I have loads of shots that never get used, Mabel. I take them mostly for my own pleasure, and if they work for a challenge, fine. I do find chasing challenges a bit of a pain sometimes. I’d rather just tell a story, in my own way. But having said that I’ve been doing 6WS forever! 🙂 🙂 Happy Sunday to you!

I am like you, Jo. I take many, many photos each time I’m out and some of them I tuck them away forever. Currently I have about 20,000 shots on my hard drive, I think… 😀
Always love your Six Word Saturday. They always seem so effortless, and love to see where you’ve been 🙂

Oh, no earworm warning! I shall not get that song out of my head now! Love the 19 and a half – only ever saw a half number once and that was in Chinatown district on Vancouver Island. Maybe I’ll look it up for the challenge. Seems like the east has had a grey and wet week, reversal of what happened at the beginning of the month when you lot were in the sun and heat and we were hidden in a cloud! Wishing you some sunshine, as long as you don’t pinch ours 😀

I’m struggling to remember any sunshine. Was I in Poland? 😦 😦 No, I do remember 2 breakfasts in the garden. 🙂 Sorry about the song. I have the feeling I’ve used it before in 6WS, but it’ll be 200 next week so there must be a bit of repetition in there somewhere. I’m planning a retirement bash 🙂

Such diverse photos Jo – the door knocker on that red door- very unique and kinda classic – the 19 1/2 felt like one of those photos that tell a thousand words – the different feel to the lines in the iron to the number to all that background stuff – happy Saturday to u

The back streets of Durham yield some lovely finds, Yvette. It was the doorknocker I was drawn to first but it was a bit cobwebby 🙂 I have a lovely dragon one but it doesn’t fit with ‘numbers’. Me being random in amongst all my Polish posts. And 19 n a half made me smile. 🙂 As did the Ian Drury song, always. Hugs, sweetheart!
