Wake up and smell the hyacinths!
I’ve been playing again. Can you tell? It all started when Suzanne wrote a guest post for Thursday’s Special entitled Abstract. Looking for a subject matter with which to create an abstract or two, I turned to the flowers I’d bought that day. I have never seen hyacinths used as cut flowers before, but I think they work rather well alongside a purple iris or two. And when I come downstairs on a morning, I have the wonderful fragrance of Spring.
I do have a tendency to get carried away though. Remember Lunapic?
It hurts your eyes after a while, but isn’t it clever? I used to love my kaleidoscope as a child, and what could be more abstract?
I hope you find something that makes you happy this weekend. Why not share it, in six words, with Cate at Show My Face. And Happy Mother’s Day to you ladies!

Stars within stars! So pretty.
I use to have the Lunapic app on my phone but it’s no longer available. There’s a Lunapic but it’s no the app I had. Either they changed the name or they aren’t supporting it anymore. I am annoyed! Go figure!
I might download it onto my computer. Thanks, Jo.
Love the kaleidoscope!

I nearly didn’t put it in, Gem. It makes me giddy and heaven knows, I can be giddy enough 🙂 I shall be seeing stars all day now I’ve had another look 🙂 Hugs, darlin’. Have a good week!

Such a lovely spring post Jo. As a child I used to grow a hyacinth in one of those glass jars with a neck and watch the roots grow down to the water. Do they still have those jars? And I loved the soft sweet scent.

I love hyacinths both the colours and fragrance 🙂 I think the kaleidoscope effect is very clever and also reminds me of the ones I had as a child – can only look at it for a short time though! Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day Jo! We have a different day here, the 2nd Sunday in May, so I have to remember both. Got myself organised though for my mother and mother in law not that my poor mum really knows who sent her the flowers ( she has dementia) but at least they look pretty in her room according to my dad! Have a lovely day!

Very clever, Jo. I love those colours, and can almost smell the Hyacinth. Yes, your Lunapic did make my eyes go funny, but I’m not complaining. 🙂

I loved kaleidoscopes too. Beautiful color for our still grey world here in Canada. I don’t think I could look at that visual effect too long though. My eyes are crossing. 🙂

It comes with a health warning, Sue. You’re not a vertigo sufferer? I’ve just realised how silly that question is as I remember photos of you dangling off a cliff, but I left it in as you might need a smile. 🙂

I’m okay with heights but I have severe motion sickness. I carry my own air sickness bag and I’m not actually kidding. Perhaps i could do a post on all the locations in the world I have needed to use it. 🙂

Oops! I’d forgotten about that, Sue! I had read about it on one of your posts. Hope I didn’t trigger anything 😦 Standing penitently in Dunce Corner 🙂

I’m sure we didn’t have cut hyacinths years ago, but they do make a lovely feature in a vase – and your photos are just gorgeous.
