A red Eiffel Tower? How strange!
It was built to celebrate the Eiffel Tower’s 125th birthday and is made up of 324 garden chairs. Our 25 years seemed almost insignificant by comparison.
Thank you for all the kind and wonderful wishes we received last weekend. As you can see from the dramatic skies, we had a mix of weather, but Paris sparkled for us. And on our return home, a huge bouquet arrived from my lovely lady friends.
I hope this weekend brings a little sparkle into your lives. Please don’t forget to share it with Cate at Show My Face.

Paris is that one overrated destination that I think are justified. I loved it at first sight. Have fun, and travel safe! I wonder if Eiffel is the most redone architecture.

I read Edward Rutherfurd’s ‘Paris’ and was fascinated by Eiffel’s vision and determination. The things we can achieve if we really try! 🙂

Just so amazing Jo and you’ve captured it all so well! I love the red Eiffel Tower. Now who would have thought of that? Love the photo where you took the shot from behind the statue. Made me smile. 😀
It looks like you had lots of fun hon. I am so glad for you. Thanks for sharing with us. 😀

Welcome home Jo, and Happy Anniversary! What a fantastic way to celebrate. Your photos are gorgeous, and I must admit I love the one taken from the statue’s backside. Quite a view! 🙂 That garden chair sculpture is beautiful. I can tell you had a wonderful time. ~Terri

It was brilliant, Lucy 🙂 A little too much exercise up and down 4 flights of stairs to our apartment but it was an excuse to stay out longer 🙂 We were close to Les Halles with everything on the doorstep so no complaints really. Giverny was fabulous and Versailles impressive too 🙂 And we went to a concert in Saint Chapelle. Don’t get me started- I’ll go on and on! 🙂

Look forward to hearing all about it! We have just booked the Eurostar to Paris in December, though not sure if we’ll stay in the city or go on somewhere else yet – although it’d be nice to go somewhere else I can’t get enough of Paris!

Jo I am so happy you had a wonderful time in Paris. I love the way you have used different perspectives in capturing the Eiffel Tower. The one of the statue with it’s butt looking our way as he gazes at the tower is my fave. The wooden lawn chair red tower is so real. I thought I was seeing the tower in red lights till you explained. What fun!

Hi Sue 🙂 Yes, it was brilliant, thanks. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to post for 6WS but I started with the red tower and it kind of ‘wrote itself’. I took more than 1000 photos so you’ll probably see a little bit of Paris in the coming days 🙂 Right now, time has become the enemy again.
You out and about fitness training for the trip to Italy? It’s quite soon, isn’t it?

Thanks, M-R 🙂 I was hesitant, to be truthful. I was there as a not very bright and very pregnant 20 year old, and apart from Sacre Coeur not much left a lasting impression. This time was so much better. The right guy, I guess 🙂

Hi Jo,
This is a really great series. I especially loved the photo of the statue from behind–looking as if it was kicking back to watch the tower.

Hi Jo,
Having trouble keeping up, but better late than never! I put one kid on a plane for Turkey the day before yesterday and picked another one up from Lithuania today. Lots of packing and last minute errands, but it should quiet down now, at least for a couple of weeks.
How are you doing, Jo? Well, I hope!

Excellent photos! My favorites are #3 and #4, although I agree, the watery ones are lovely and evocative of a little splash. But I love the colors in #3 and #4 and the implicit invitation to take a walk.
Everyone likes to try his or her hand at photographing famous landmarks. Maybe someday I’ll try Seattle’s Space Needle.

Thanks a lot, Nicki. It would have been better to be further along the Seine to see the tower twinkling but the red version was an unexpected bonus.

I was at the exact same spot by the fountains looking at Tour Eiffel, and I remember that nude guy that you captured from behind :), but the red tower was not there in May last year. Terrific takes, Jo! Especially that last one. I can see you had a lot of fun 🙂 🙂
