A red Eiffel Tower? How strange!
I have to admit, I was surprised!
If you look closely, you can see it’s made up of stacked chairs. So clever!
It was built to celebrate the Eiffel Tower’s 125th birthday and is made up of 324 garden chairs. Our 25 years seemed almost insignificant by comparison.
The red tower is currently down on Paris Plage
While the ‘real’ tower sparkles in the distance
It can still look quite small, depending on where you stand
But my favourite images are watery ones
The fountains playing bring out the child in me
And I want to play with all that water!
Thank you for all the kind and wonderful wishes we received last weekend. As you can see from the dramatic skies, we had a mix of weather, but Paris sparkled for us. And on our return home, a huge bouquet arrived from my lovely lady friends.

Not naughty at all Jo, glad you linked me back to this as I did certainly miss it! Fascinating that red Eiffel Tower with the red chairs, you had me fooled for sure! Now I’ve realised that I obviously also missed that you went to Paris for your silver wedding anniversary? How did I miss that too? Must have been when I was away and I didn’t blog for 2 weeks. See how much I missed? A lifetime! Well, I know it’s very late, but I do wish send you and your hubby wonderful wishes for your special 25 years and by reading here, you obviously had a wonderful time, so glad that despite the weather Paris sparked for you 🙂 When hubby and I went a few years ago, it was in November and the same weekend that an icy blast froze through. And it was bitter. But we still had a marvellous time and when we went down the Seine the sun came out warming us up wonderfully 😀

I’ve struggled this week with posting as you’ve noticed. I know just what you mean about trying to ignore the inbox, like you, I have to post before I go there otherwise I’m lost. I’ve been in a strange writing place for a while now, although I have been writing my book. Still, hoping for a post up today. Toying with one or two ideas, who knows what will go out…watch this space, haha 😀

Ah, you almost had me fooled!! The Eiffel was blue when we went in 2008 in honour of France’s presidency of the EU. The small tower behind the sculpture is my favourite Jo.

Somebody was telling me that The Eiffel was red originally, Madhu, but I’m not sure that it’s true? It’d look rather elegant in blue I think 🙂

Well over 1000, Pauline, but I’ve axed quite a few :(. Sometimes I keep them for the memory if it’s not a very good shot but I can be ruthless 🙂 I’m not one for processing and if I keep them to ‘play with’ I know I’ll never get there. Who was it said you have loads of time in your retirement? Can’t have been a blogger! 🙂

You have to cross over the Seine to the Trocadero to take the fountains, Smidge (or approach from the Champs Elysee along Avenue Kleber). There are water canon too- absolutely tremendous! 🙂
