Six word Saturday

Gone to Edinburgh.  NOT Christmas shopping!

I’ve booked a last minute seat on a Christmas shopping coach trip to Edinburgh, just for the day.  It’s years since I was in Edinburgh, and never at Christmas, so I’m quite excited to see Princes St. with its fairy lights.

Doubt I’ll get up as high as Arthur’s Seat, but you never know! I do know it will be COLD though.  Leaving at the crack of dawn so I won’t be able to link to Six word Saturday till I get home. See you then!

      1. Ah good! I’m glad to hear you didn’t get lost! Did Mick go along with you? Did you do some shopping? I guess I will have to wait for your blog post to find out about it! 🙂

      2. No shopping but I eyed up a few kilts 🙂 (don’t be taking that the wrong way- I know you’re American 🙂 ) Just a solo outing- Mick was at “the match”. Enjoy your Sunday, Cathy. Days off- whoo-ee! 🙂

    1. It must have been a fun place to study, Tobyo. I would have liked a couple of days, but this was just enough, as I whizzed around by myself. Just wish I didn’t climb so much! Scott’s Monument, Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill… Thank goodness there wasn’t time for Arthur’s Seat! 🙂

      1. oh no, I didn’t study there. it was when I was a student in Spain and I went north to London and Edinburgh and another small town in Scotland, whose name escapes me at the moment, during spring break. we were there 2-3 days is all and we did climb Arthur’s Seat! and passing the castle we saw the queen leaving in a Rolls Royce. fun memories of a great town. glad you had a fun day!

      2. Hamilton was the name of the other town I went to, just to visit a church of a preacher who was a guest at the church I went to at the time.

      3. Silly me- I just agreed with you, Tobyo, without thinking! Arthur’s seat looked beautiful as the sun started to set. I didn’t know where I wanted to be for the best views. Which reminds me that it’s Conego Branco and I must look and see what Marianne has on offer. I have a feeling December’s going to be FULL! Have a good one, Tobyo 🙂

    1. Sorry, Seonaid- I totally didn’t think! I have a friend who works at the Scottish Parliament too. I made a fleeting visit there today, but didn’t contact Colin because I had no idea how the time would work out. (I was looking for coach trips to Chatsworth House in Derbyshire when I spotted this and booked on impulse! I’m going to Chatsworth next week with my daughter and really looking forward to that- weather permitting 🙂 )

    1. I was looking for a coach trip to an English country home that has a Narnia theme this year when I spotted this, Sam. I’ve booked to go to Chatsworth with my daughter, but I couldn’t resist this little jaunt 🙂

      1. I can’t do no sleep anymore, and today will be interesting as I was up until after 1am with friends, and just been brought tea – less than 8 hours sleep for a girl who now needs 11, could be an interesting day!

  1. Oooo…Edinburgh, I’m jealous! I was born not far from there and haven’t been back in years, so I’m looking forward to hearing all about your trip. Hope you take lots of pix!
