Barcelona- a feast for the senses!
I’ve been overwhelmed by all your birthday messages and good wishes, and would simply like to say thank you to my wonderful blogging friends. I will be slow getting back to you as I have a zillion things to do and 600+ photos to sort through. I just wanted to let you know that Barcelona fully lived up to expectations, and to share a few thoughts.
But you know what the finale is, don’t you? Never have I been more in awe of a piece of architecture! It is magnificent!
Expect to be bored lots more in the coming days! I had the BEST time.
Thanks as always to Cate for letting me abuse Six word Saturday. The links or header will take you there to join in the fun.

A visual feast! Like being in an awesome dream only it’s true. Thanks for sharing this and for the recent kind thoughts on my comment section.

You’re very welcome, Mr. T. It’s so distressing to watch on TV and help seems to be arriving slowly. 😦

NO PROBLEM! It’s so hard to keep track. I started a list that I keep beside me when I blog and sometimes I still mess up. One woman stopped following me because I accidentally called her the wrong name .. ;/

Have you seen “Vicky, Christina, Barcelona”?
Enjoy your Sunday.

Is Vicky, Christina… a blog? Not come across it.

No, it’s a great film by Woody Allen, first class actors! Love it. Actionplace: Barcelona. You’ll love it too, I’m sure. 🙂

Silly me! Guess you can tell I’m not much of a film buff 🙂 I’ll watch out for it, but sport tends to rule on the TV in our house, plus politics (one of the reasons I love to blog)

I’m so glad you enjoyed your birthday in Barcelona, Jo! I’m going to love reliving it through your lens…. Hope to see some good food too. Park Guell was really one of my favorite spots. Glad you had it mostly to yourselves. 🙂

Don’t think I took a single food shot, Cathy! Mostly I was looking up 🙂
Fabulous, isn’t it? You ok?

No food shots?? Darn, I was looking forward to experiencing Spanish tapas again through your photos! I’m glad you had a fabulous time “looking up,” Jo! I’m fine, just counting the days till this semester ends, and trying to keep up with the Travel Writing course (and my novel!).

Are you enjoying the travel writing course, Cathy? Is it helpful, do you think? You certainly seem to have plenty of nice local places to write about. 🙂

The Travel Writing course is excellent and I’m learning a lot, Jo. I hope I can put all their great advice to good use and actually get something published. Only time will tell, I guess. 🙂

Is it with an online company that you saw advertised? Expensive? 🙂

Hi Jo. The course is with the Australian Writer’s Center (http://www.writerscentre.com.au/) and the course is 5 intensive weeks for $395. I think it’s definitely worthwhile so far. I’ve learned a lot already in 3 weeks; only two more to go. After it’s all said and done, I will then need to see if I can actually put it all into practice. 🙂
I saw there’s another travel writing course through Matador for $350 (not sure how long) and also they offer an online photography course. I may have to look into that one. And now of course I can’t help but wonder if the Matador course may offer additional knowledge or just a repeat of the Australian Writer’s Center.
Carol of Eternal Traveller recommended the Aussie course because she took it and really loved it. Be prepared to spend about 4-5 hours per week (hard for me to find that time with my teaching schedule, but I’m managing to squeeze it in just barely). Let me know if you decide to do it. I think another course starts in a week or so. 🙂

Can’t really afford it right now, Cathy, but thanks for all the info. I was aware of the Matador one and used to contribute to that site, but haven’t done much since the blog. Are you on there? I’ll have to check.
I will think about it after Christmas, but I have a few projects on the go right now.
Big hug 🙂
