No time for colour- Barcelona tomorrow!
I type this while looking over my shoulder at the prettiest of sunrises, and with a stomache churning with excitement. It’s all been a little frantic because my daughter arrived home yesterday evening and we have so little time. The Whitby Goth Festival is on this weekend, and she and Leo intend to visit on their way home tomorrow. I would LOVE to be there but I’m up at the crack of dawn for my Barcelona flight. (she promises to share photos!)
I have no illusions that I will be able to take photos like this, but you’d better believe I’m going to try! The forecast is for rain on Sunday, when I arrive, but sunny thereafter. I can’t wait!
Will I be in Casa Batllo on my birthday on Tuesday? I don’t really know, but I can think of worse places. I will be home for Six word Saturday next week though (shame!).

🙂 !!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO !!! 🙂
I hope by the time you read this you are in Barcelona. You will LOVE IT!!! We did. You won’t have any trouble finding things to do. Depending on how long you will be staying, do ride the Hop-on-hop-off bus that goes north and then all the way to the Harbor and past the Olympic grounds.
Spend a lot of time in the Las Ramblas area as that is where the tourist type activites congregate. We stayed on that street, overlooking it. Beware of being out alone after about 10 or 11 or so at night, a different element takes over the streets. I emphasize the word, alone. But you might like to observe some of the activities then. A little goes a long way. Hint–the drug sellers are carrying a six pack of soft?? drinks to sell you one.
And for sure you will be able to get good pictures of the Cathedral. The Hop-on-off bus goes there and lets you off. But the waiting lines are terrible. We didn’t go in. They may do reservations but we still didn’t want to see more than the outside. We have already been to zillions of famous churches!!

Have a lovely time. It should be quieter in Barcelona than it was in the summer
when I was there for an OU tutorial. The Casa Batilia is wonderful. And you’ll love strolling along los Ramblas, there’s so much going on.
