Yes, that’s my shadow on the stone pillar. Careless me!
This time of year always has me in reflective mood. No matter how bright the sunshine, I always know that Winter is waiting, just around the corner. But we have had the occasional sparkling day in this last week or so, and I have been determined to make the most of them. Come stroll with me in my Durham gallery of sunshine and shadows.
The River Wear was brim full and the reflections sparkled up onto the bridge.
Framed in the shadows beneath the bridge, the outline of Durham Cathedral.
The sun was so bright, I had to find leafy shade to even try a shot.
This was the photo I was aiming for on that bridge!
The Autumn reflections in the water were beautiful
And the shadows lengthened as I crossed over the bridge.
Finally, the lengthening shadows of evening.

And another Durham day has flown away.
Cee has given me the perfect opportunity this week to share a few Reflections and Shadows. Please click on the link to see some wonderful photographs.
I’m hoping your week will have more sunshine than shadow.

Hi Jo, It’s All Saint’s day here which means no work for me today. Is it customary there to visit the graves and light candles on this day. I believe it is in Poland the same as here. Anyway, I am here to check if you are leaving on the 3rd and celebrating your b-day on the 6th or vice versa?

I’m almost incoherent with excitement, Paula! I just booked a walking tour of the Gothic Centre on Monday morning 🙂 Yes, it’s the same in Poland, Portugal and Spain so I would have liked to be in Barca today. It was my original plan but my daughter arrives this afternoon. I fly out early Sunday and don’t yet have a proper plan for my birthday on tuesday. You’re right- lucky me! But today I have to clean and cook so won’t be on here much. Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

I said to my mum the other day that I was thinking we’d have a good balmy autumn until early December, a short cold snap with a bit of snow for a week or so and then a nice early spring starting at the end of February. She thought I might be being slightly overoptimistic, but you never know, eh?
