Time to see RED? Not really!
If you asked me what my favourite colour is, I’d probably say red. But when I look back through my photos I find that they are predominantly blues. Often the reds are a wine colour, like the leaves from my Virginia Creeper, above. Or I’ve used the red as an accent colour, like my favourite dress, which is white with deep blue and red flowers on.
I can have endless arguments with my husband about colour, but it doesn’t really matter. It’s all beautiful, isn’t it? No need to see red at all!
Thanks for humouring me this Saturday. Hope your weekend sparkles, whatever shade it is. Many thanks to Cate at Show My Face. Hope she’s feeling better this week. Do click on the logos or the link to join in.

Exciting, fun series of reds… Kind of what it feels on holidays. Have a great weekend.

I love the dahlia and the rose. Red is also a favourite colour of mine, along with blue. What a sweet little ladybird! 🙂

One of these days I’ll work out a way to categorise my photos, Ad. It’s always after I’ve published that I find the photo I was going to use! 🙂 Good job there are a few to choose from (or maybe that’s the problem! 😦 )

Like many, I think of red as an accent color. Did you leave the picture out on purpose of you in your favorite dress? I bet it is stunning. 🙂

I don’t have one, I don’t think, Lynne. The dress lives in Tavira with my “Summer wardrobe”. It’s just a slim white shift with flowers on, that makes me feel good. 🙂

Gorgeous red of your photos, Johanna! The dahlia is stunning.

We were having the debate, Amy, about why red looks pink in photos sometimes. I’m positive that dahlia was proper red, but lovely, whatever colour 🙂

I agree, dahlia is lovely what ever color…

I suspect a weedy old garden, but I’ll try and get a peek next time I’m there. It’s old but pretty solid. 🙂

Red is so cheerful and I like that ice cream truck a lot – too bad it’s only a photo!

We went to a different icecream parlour that day, but it was hard to choose 🙂

Very beautiful photos Jo! I love red too! I go back and forth between Red and Royal Blue as my favorites. Those cliffs are stunning at Riva del Garda.

I especially love it in stained glass windows, Colline. Shame I didn’t get decent shots of the ones in the cliff lift. (I’ll be back 🙂 )

I don’t care much for the brilliant color of red but I do love the rich warming burgundy tones. And I love old red barns!

Great post Jo. I love red! Didn’t wear for a long time as I had dark coppery hair, but discovered in my forties that it really suits me! Or did… and I especially like the magenta, burgundy, wine, berry shades of red, in fact I tend to collect plants with flowers or leaves of that colour too 😀

It just depends what the ‘thing’ is as to whether I like the color. Probably just conditioned to like certain colors on certain things. I like bright pink and bright orange, but don’t like them as colors on a car.

Nice collection Jo, particularly the cliff lift at Saltburn. I didn’t realise they had such ornate windows – when we were there the lift was closed and the carriages parked half way up.
