Six word Saturday

6ws-participating-in-bannerTime to see RED?  Not really!

IMG_0288If you asked me what my favourite colour is, I’d probably say red.  But when I look back through my photos I find that they are predominantly blues.  Often the reds are a wine colour, like the leaves from my Virginia Creeper, above.  Or I’ve used the red as an accent colour, like my favourite dress, which is white with deep blue and red flowers on.

I can have endless arguments with my husband about colour, but it doesn’t really matter.  It’s all beautiful, isn’t it?  No need to see red at all!

Thanks for humouring me this Saturday.  Hope your weekend sparkles, whatever shade it is.  Many thanks to Cate at Show My Face.  Hope she’s feeling better this week.  Do click on the logos or the link to join in.

    1. Thanks, Pomme 🙂 Right now I’m looking at a red Autumn sunrise. There have been some beauties this week. The clocks changed at the weekend but my body clock doesn’t, so I’ve seen more than my share of them. Lovely though 🙂

Red is the color of passion, fire, the fire of the soul in beauty, believe that it is the color that best suits you, you will transmit your photos

However … If you go to Spain be careful to the bulls, he ?!!!
passa una dolce notte….spero tantoche dalle tue parti ci sia quella tremenda tempesta di cui parlano itg

I hope so much that from your parts there is that dreadful storm whose speak i tg

    1. Thank you for your kind thoughts, Ventis. The storm passed us by quietly. I think my friends in Scandinavia are in the eye of the storm right now.
On Sunday I am going to Barcelona (to celebrate my birthday). I will be “on guard” against el toro. 🙂

  2. Watching St Jude wreck havoc across your country on TV Jo. Relived to know it missed you. Love your reds. But white with deep blue and red flowers sounds even better! I want to see it too 🙂

    1. LOTS of warnings, Madhu. It blew all my lovely red leaves away but no damage here. I think Vivi has it all in Scandinavia 😦
      I’ll have a hunt- maybe there’s a photo of it somewhere. 🙂

  3. Who doesn’t love red …. why haven’t your added a photo of your dress … would have loved to see it. Great gallery as always, Jo.
Thanks for sending the storm over here … we are just under the spell of it. Scary.
Hope you’re okay in the storm.

    1. The storm missed us! We just had a lot of rain and a little wind. You must have my share! Blow it back 🙂
I don’t think I have a photo of that dress. It lives in Tavira these days, in the sunshine. Hugs, hon. I loved your new horizons 🙂

      1. Okay … otherwise you could have just taken a photo of the material.
Thanks, Jo … I was going to send you my profile name on SKYPE so we can have a … good talk sometimes. *smile
        Doing this NOW!

      2. Ok. Haven’t set up an account or whatever it is you do on there because I’ve never used it. Polish family and friends in the Algarve have asked if I have Skype and I always say no. I’m funny like that. I know this (on the blog) is a rather public way to chat. I prefer email but who has time these days. Cooking “breakfast” for my son. Back soon. 🙂

    1. From a distance of about 40 years! 🙂 The young chap in the far background is my husband.
We were going out with the walking group this morning but it’s mizzling and I’m thinking twice. 😦

  4. My daughter and I change favorite colors all the time I have to check in on what hers is now that I think about it!

      1. LOL no not for us. we like dark walls blacks grays browns anything dark and moody! I know how surprising!

Music is slow I’m trying to get into some movies and TV shows. VERY UNGLAMOROUS and not as much fun as talking to my WP family. How have you been?

      2. Good thanks! Looking forward to a few days in Barcelona next week (a reward to myself for becoming even older 🙂 )
Shame about the music. It sounds great! It’ll happen.

      3. Well this is the BORING ugly side of the business. But nothing worth having is easy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY by the way don’t think of me in Barcelona! LOL

  5. I just love the ice cream van 🙂
Red was always my favourite colour as a child, though yellow took over as I grew older……..both warm cheerful colours though.
I’ve just looked at the majority of my pics, and blue is the most dominant colour too…….may be something to do with my love of blue skies though 😉

  6. Wine colour is one of my favourite colours :D. A fab post dear Jo. You have made me smile. Hope that you will see some sunshine and perhaps some red sunset today 😉

    1. Cooking and boring stuff today, Paula. I was up super early because our clocks changed but I didn’t, so I have an extra hour to play. 🙂 Thank you!
Yesterday morning was the most spectacular sunrise, then rain.

      1. Nope! I did mean to but as usual I was bashing away at the laptop, trying to get 6WS up and running before my zumba class. (I failed! Too picky sometimes 🙂 )

  7. I love red but I also love blue, red invigorates me and the vivid nature of it always gets my attention, blue is my calming colour and appears more en masse in my life. Lisa’s red hair is stunning and photographs well but bright red flowers and other really red objects never appear quite the same in my photographs 🙂

    1. One of these days I’ll work out a way to categorise my photos, Ad. It’s always after I’ve published that I find the photo I was going to use! 🙂 Good job there are a few to choose from (or maybe that’s the problem! 😦 )

    1. I don’t have one, I don’t think, Lynne. The dress lives in Tavira with my “Summer wardrobe”. It’s just a slim white shift with flowers on, that makes me feel good. 🙂

  8. Very beautiful photos Jo! I love red too! I go back and forth between Red and Royal Blue as my favorites. Those cliffs are stunning at Riva del Garda.

  9. Great post Jo. I love red! Didn’t wear for a long time as I had dark coppery hair, but discovered in my forties that it really suits me! Or did… and I especially like the magenta, burgundy, wine, berry shades of red, in fact I tend to collect plants with flowers or leaves of that colour too 😀

  10. I’m not a huge fan of red, not even the color, Ha! Ha! BUT, oh my goodness, what a bunch of beautiful, cute and darling reds you shared. Everyone is perfect!

  11. It just depends what the ‘thing’ is as to whether I like the color. Probably just conditioned to like certain colors on certain things. I like bright pink and bright orange, but don’t like them as colors on a car.
