Six word Saturday

6ws-participating-in-bannerUplifting YELLOW – the colour of sunshine.

The Autumn colour in Richmond

Autumn colour in Richmond, North Yorkshire

Even a sunshine bird like me can’t help but thrill to the colours of Autumn.   Crispy days, with the water running dark and the sun shining bright…

And glints through the leaves in Autumn

And glinting through the leaves.

Here is my gallery of yellow for this week.  Click on a photo to roll with me.

My kaleidoscopes of colour have brightened my Saturdays over the last few weeks.  I can’t resist the opportunity to add this one to the Weekly Photo Challenge, the hue of you.

Join Cheri’s challenge, or simply stay here, nice and comfy with Cate at Show My Face.  The world’s your oyster!

      1. It is but fleeting sun. September and October are normally gorgeous and it was VERY summer like. Now it is cooling off and November is our one gray month which I hate. I’d rather have it ice cold and sunshine brightening my day! 🙂

  1. I do look forward to your colorful Saturday postings! This week my favorite is the beautifully bright yellow doorway. I love yellow but can’t wear it often due to my coloring. Enjoy your weekend!

    1. I don’t really wear it either but it makes a lovely highlight around the home (our Algarve house is all blue and yellow against the white walls) 🙂
      Glad to be of service.

  2. I *love* your autumnish yellow photos! Such beautiful colouring in the trees! And your gallery of yellow cheered up this grey day. I love how you made the text pop up in your gallery of photos. Would you tell me your secret how you did that?
I like that yellow door to a house… I wonder whether it gives a happy feeling every time you enter it? 😉

    1. Hi Cessie! Not me being clever at all- the WordPress galleries allow you to write captions in. It’s one of the features that I really love. You use Blogspot, don’t you? I don’t know if that works the same. 🙂
That yellow door was just painted in the last couple of weeks- cheering itself up for the Winter! Pretty grey and damp here too.
Did you manage to link to Six word Saturday this week? I tried twice and there wasn’t a new post up. I’ll go back now and have another go. Maybe Cate was having a lie-in 🙂

      1. Aha… WordPress. Yeah I often wonder whether I would change to WordPress as well. No time to do that at the moment though. Maybe next year.
No Six Word at Cate’s blog this Saturday, no. I decided to do my own blog hopping around the usual 6WS blogs: I found quite many people participating without participating 😉

      1. Yes, it is! My entries aren’t exactly typical, and this week is complicated by the Weekly Photo Challenge but if you click on the pink header it takes you to Cate’s page, and all will be explained. She actually forgot to post herself this week as she was ill, poor soul, but you’ll get the general idea. 🙂
        2 blogs! I couldn’t cope 🙂

    1. “Hue is you” played right into my hands this week, Amy! Yellow isn’t really my favourite colour but it definitely is the colour of sunshine, and you know how I feel about that 🙂 Thanks a lot!

  3. I think I even spot the Bamberg Rathaus in there Jo! Have you been there too? Perhaps it’s just another building painted in a similar way. It looks familiar though.

    1. The old gold shot is in the Market Square in Wroclaw in Poland. The one next to it, with stained glass windows is the Rathaus in Krakow. I’ve only been to Germany once and that was just a day visit, over the border from Zgorzelec in Poland. The architecture was beautiful. 🙂

  4. I just love everything yellow … except in my clothing … stunning photos again, I love your color mission. The second photo from the top is my favorite … the autumn colors and that cold blue river.

      1. The Swedish colors … the yellow cross (sun beams) and the blue sky.
Truly beautiful color combination. Yellow goes with green, grey and white. A very versatile color, but in cloths it make me look so pale, even in the summer. Lovely shots, Jo!

      2. Thanks, hon. 🙂 Catch up time on the blogs this afternoon. It was wet! wet! wet! first thing but now that I’ve encouraged it, the sun is trying to struggle out 🙂 Big hug!

      1. It must be tiresome, doing it every week. I’ll probably go looking for Ron and Jim a bit later, if I have time. Thoroughly miserable here, but I’m still smiling. Have a good weekend, Viv 🙂
