Family fun in all its guises!
Fun is guaranteed when my Polish family from Norfolk come to visit. The above shots were taken at Saltholme, a local birdwatching nature reserve. Click on any photo to follow the story line.
In Durham, we took the Castle tour (Rafal is considering Durham University, based in the Castle, as one of his options). I was delighted to find that it was the first day of the flower festival in the Cathedral, but it was, of course, busy.
More fun is anticipated today.

Thanks, Munchow 🙂 I only see them once a year and it’s always a pleasure. We fit so much into a couple of days because boys of that age like to be “on the go”. I was at a Boulder Park the following day. Just recovering 🙂

I love Durham – good choice for a University I hear (and cricket!).

It’s one of his five options but Cambridge will be much nearer his family. Depends where he is offered of course, but he’s a very bright boy. 🙂

Oh it’s so complicated – my son is just choosing his uni’s for next year this week! So hard to know what they want to do at that age…. (I still don’t know what I want to do with my life!)

Thanks, Tonya! Having a “me” day today. Guests went home yesterday, daughter has her husband home again, and son returned to his job in Bradford with a mountain of clean and ironed clothes. Phew! (walking planned this morning and as little as possible this afternoon 🙂 )

The birdwatching reserve looks interesting, with more to do than just gaze at birds through binoculars, which is my experience of birdwatching areas – although that can be fun too, but it’s nice to have more to interest the family.

It’s on quite a bleak site, Elaine, surrounded by industry, but they’ve tried their very best to make it fun. 🙂
