“Sunshine on the water makes me happy”
A litttle while ago, Frizztext, whom I’m sure most of you will know and admire, placed this video in my Comments box and gladdened my heart. It’s John Denver singing “Sunshine on my shoulders”, a song that always brings a lump to my throat.

Beautiful, isn’t it? I thought I might follow it up with a few shots that always make me smile.

A lazy Tavira day when the umbrella was needed to keep the sun at bay

A little boat to sail away on.

This hibiscus is planted outside our house and welcomes us back each trip.

Everything makes me smile about the island of Armona.

The storks in Faro old town
The smallest participant at the folk fair.r
A cumberbund dilemma!
Endearing scenes from the Folk Festival

Those tents by the river always mean something good is happening.

From earliest morning, I love each of my days.

Impossible to leave out my bridge, isn’t it? Like this angle?

But I’m irresistibly drawn back to that beach.

Flowers, ever present, in every season.
Paula, who is always Lost in Translation, asked what inspires you. This is my offering, with thanks to Paula and the inimitable Frizz.

You brought smiles to my face. What glorious things to inspire you, Jo. Peaceful, colorful and cheerful. Nice to include something (boat) that represents one’s dreams. I also like how that beautiful hibiscus welcomes your every visit. Your anchor away from home.

It’s a lot closer for you, Jo! You could be there in a hop, skip and a jump but for me it’s an overnighter and lots of money. So sad that I’m not infinitely wealthy! 🙂

It’s an old, old song but it always makes me happy, Amy. I was surprised how few people have taken part in Paula’s non-challenge, but there are such a lot about. I wanted to use the video Frizz sent me to say thank you to him, and it seemed to fit quite well. 🙂

Glad you like it 🙂 I didn’t really intend to call it “Thanks, Paula” but I knew roughly what I wanted to put in it. This was my working title while I pulled up the photos, but then my husband was hovering, waiting for our shared (reluctantly 🙂 ) laptop and I decided it would do very nicely.

You can change it to something else :D, I would not mind it at all 🙂 I promise 🙂 Why don’t you suggest him to buy his own laptop?

No, I like it, so long as you don’t mind. I didn’t want to call it “Thursday’s…” because it so obviously isn’t! All those weeks of trying to do Jake’s on time have left a scar 🙂 I prefer to do Lingering windows” on a Thursday if I can. What a challenged world we inhabit! 🙂
Main reason is cash, but we’re rich in other ways.
