No zumba for me this week
Wouldn’t you know that it’s a perfect English morning (at last!) and my normal Saturday morning walk down through the park to zumba would be a delight? Instead I’m going to take you on an uphill walk which is the cause of my incapacity. Then I might sit in the garden with a book- a novelty in itself! (and ignore the pile of ironing just a bit longer)
Unfortunately I wasn’t wearing the right kind of footwear, and as we scrambled back down again I could feel the damage to my toes. It was the “quick route” down as everyone was starved and we were heading for a very nice restaurant as a reward for our efforts.
I struggle to get a shoe on and have been wearing flipflops ever since. Still, I did enjoy the walk, and the company. Hope you did too? Don’t forget to visit Cate at Show My Face to see what’s been happening to everyone this week. My Six word Saturdays are all on the button below.

ouchy ouch! get well soon! Great shots from your painful walk. and Thanks for visiting!

🙂 Hi Jo ~~ I am sorry about your foot. I hope it might be better tomorrow. I hurt my foot too yesterday. I don’t know what did it, just that it is similar to what put me on crutches several years ago. But it doesn’t hurt that bad so far.
It got worse during my walk with Mrs. Jim.
We wereshe was shopping at our Macy’s store for some clothes. Afterwards were, and did go, to go eat again at Beck’s Prime to use our other National Hamburger Month buy-one-get-one-free-hamburger coupon...

No worries, Jim. It’s getting better every second. (or is that the red wine?)
Stay well! 🙂

I made the same mistake on my trip to Japan and didn’t realise till I returned that both my big toe nails were damaged! They are growing back, but I am still so conscious about taking off my footwear in public still.
The walk seems to have been almost worth losing the toenail for though 🙂 Have never seen weeds as gorgeous or goats quite like that! Thanks for the tour Jo. And take good care of those toes 😉

PS: Jo, I needed to get the dead toe nails removed because the new nail was not able to push through and was getting ridged. Better get a doctor to check them.

I’m annointing them with Argan Oil I won from Suze (Travelbunny) and drinking red wine, Madhu. Or the other way round- whichever works! Glad I’m not the only foolish person around 🙂

I’m trying Suzanne’s magic Argan Oil on them, Lucy. And a glass of red for good measure. 🙂

Oh dear, sounds painful. What was the cause, toes slipping to the end of the shoe?

Yes, exactly that, Vicky. At home I have proper walking boots, but never bother in the Algarve. The plimsolls just weren’t up to the job of going downhill over loose stones. Getting better though. Just one very black big toe. 🙂

Ouch!!
Sounds like you’ll definitely lose your toe nail 😮

Way overrated, Jess! I’ve done half(ish), after a lovely afternoon in the garden. Well, how often does the sun shine all day? Have a good weekend. 🙂

Feeling fine after an afternoon being lazy in the garden, Mlissabeth. Just a bit jumpy if anyone gets too near the toes. 🙂

Oh this was the better choice by far. The ironing will keep, even long after a bit of good reading by the light of evening. This kind of walk is so good for the soul. Besides if you hadn’t taken photos, how could we ever share it too? Enjoy your weekend, and the simple gifts so close at hand. Oh yeah, the ironing will keep!

The ironing always wins at some point, doesn’t it, Karen? It was a beautiful walk and i spent the afternoon in the garden with a book. (result!) Thanks, you too. 🙂

What awesome countryside – I’ve always thought about trying zumba but I have two left feet and absolutely no coordination

It was very pretty. I’m pretty bad at coordination too, but I just love the music. Our teacher is really great- so enthusiastic. Give it a go! 🙂

I hurt my toes this week, too. It was crazy: I ran into a wall somehow, and I’ve been stumbling around ever since. I really hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. Have a nice weekend. ☺

Going up was fine, Elaine, and I loved the views. The company was great too, so I was fine till I got back to the house. Getting better (in spite of the ironing!) 🙂

You would think a Zumba Queen could handle a uphill walk barefoot 🙂 but sadly our bodies can only do so much. Hope you feel better soon loved your photos!

I might’ve been better in my flipflops, Eunice! The things some people will do to get out of the ironing. Didn’t really work, either- still had to do some this evening! 🙂

Ooh, sounds painful Jo. Maybe get it checked out by a doctor? My mum did something similar a few months ago and it turned out that her foot was broken, then wasn’t healing itself and eventually she had to have surgery on it. She is only just now allowed to start putting some weight on it and, most excitingly for her, to wear normal shoes.

Thanks for your concern, Georgia. It’s really just the big toe that’s damaged. I might loose the nail, but I think it’ll be ok. I don’t much like shoes anyway. I’m a barefoot lass normally. 🙂
