Nine days in Poland with Dad
It almost didn’t happen because when I started to check us in online, I realised that Dad’s passport runs out on 30th April, 2013- the precise date we travel to Poland. Thank goodness for the days of online check-in. Otherwise, we might have been at the airport! A swift dash to the Passport Office in Durham has rectified all, and we are good to go.
And in complete contrast, a postcard that is very special to me, and seems appropriate for this time of year. It was given to me by my Aunt Anna, who is no longer with us.
I won’t be about next week as I’m a very low tech traveller. In any case I will be working hard at my abysmal Polish. Wish me luck!
Don’t forget to visit Cate at Show My Face at check out this week’s Six word Saturdays. Just click on the link or the header.

Good luck! Język polski jest za bardzo trudne!!

Dad is watching snooker with my cousin Adam so I’m having a little catch up. My Polish head hurts! I wish it was my mother tongue. 🙂

Good luck with your Polish, Jo! Okay, when you’re on the Rynek in Krakow, turn to the south and look for ul. Bracka. Down the street a bit is a place called Prowincja that has the BEST hot chocolate. I hope it’s still there! 🙂

Oooh, I’ll check! Thanks for the “hot” tip, Angela. (and for visiting) 🙂
It’s shown on my Krakow street map so I’ve underlined it to remind me.

Thanks, Suze. it’s purely to catch up with family but I hope to get out for a few photos. Dad’s staying on for a week or so after I come home and me and Mick are whizzing off to Tavira, so looking forward to that too. 🙂

Enjoy trip … and talk about luck .. with dads passport. Krakow is a stunning place, been there for 2 days … there I can could see what a wealthy nation Poland has been … but they have always been rubbed time after time .. even our Swedish Kings has been in there, still Poland has raised and just get on with it. Looking forward to all the post filled with fantastic photo galleries.
Have a fantastic time, will be here waiting.

Thanks, Viveka. Dad will be watching snooker whenever he can so I hope to sneak off with my camera at some point. It’s such a huge family, it takes ages to get to see everyone. 🙂

Thanks, Sam. The textbook is right by my side, but I think the only solution is to have a bit of Polish brain grafted on! 🙂

Gorgeous photos Jo! We haven’t been to Poland yet, so you’ve given me the incentive I needed. And great save on your Dad’s passport – It’s amazing you pulled it off so quickly! ~Terri

Can’t beat a bit of panic, Terri :)! They’re just postcards as I don’t get very much time to go off with my camera in Poland. Usually surrounded by family. There’s lots more I’d love to see but…story of my life, really! Would recommend Krakow, Wroclaw and Warsaw to anyone. (not biased, honest!)
