This page started life as a round up of my Six word Saturdays, which go back… and back! Cate from the blog Show my Face had the original notion to tame her ramblings by describing her week in just 6 words. Naturally most of us don’t stop at that! We’re far too “wordy” to quit right there, although my husband insists that’s how exactly how it ought to be. (he just likes to wind me up!) With over 400 six word posts under her belt, Cate felt it was time to move on. Reluctant to let the challenge disappear, she has managed to find a willing volunteer to take over. Enter Debbie at Travel with Intent.
You can add photos, drawings if you’re gifted that way (I wish!), an explanation of your 6 words or not- that’s up to you. I’ve found it interesting and it’s given me a peek into some blogs I never would have found otherwise. Give it a go? Nothing to lose and many friends to win.
I’ve given up on keeping this page up to date but I can’t quite bear to let go. Many’s the time I’ve thought ‘no more’, but you’ll still find me on most Saturdays, airing my six words. I’m well into the 200s now, but I like to hang on to these memories:

“Six plus one: a Croatian week”.
Hi restless,
seeing your comment on Adventure in Croatia, couldn’t resist to at least add something.
The idea behind my six words, is that life here, day after day a God given present, always ends in Sunday.
And however life here is peaceful every day, on sunday people here stop doing what they do all week, working their land after a day in the factory, cutting wood for winter time, cleaning, harvesting (at the moment grapes), preparing, and still having time to relax after a long day.
Sunday however, all work comes to a halt, some visit church, many go to play balotte (jeux de boules), visit friends or family, or just sit back and listen to silence.
In stressed society, must, run, chase, more, this is a style of living I simply love, and recommend to each and every burned out “idiot”.
So six plus one: a Croatian week.
Let’s all aim for a Croatian week, it makes one love life again.
Best greetings from Dalmatia, Pim (a retired Dutchman living in the middle of nowhere).

Hi Pim! The guy whose lifestyle I commented on was living in Dubrovnik, and I suspect that is nothing like as laidback and natural as the lifestyle you admire. But it is a very beautiful place and I have happy memories of it from long ago. Thanks for your visit 🙂
