Six word Saturday

When one door closes another opens?

Or so the saying goes. I’m needing Debbie to cheer me up this weekend.

  1. It’s good to know you’re now feeling a bit happier Jo. The door looks a bit of a mess but it has a certain ‘je ne sais quois’ about it πŸ™‚

  2. Oh gosh, that looks a bit like the bottom of my shed! Good news re travel to and from Portugal. Off the red list so hopefully you’ll be able to come over after May 17. Not sure what requirements will be then though.

  3. That door has seen better days for sure. It’s fantastic for photos (such texture!) but it isn’t very cheery. I hope you’ve had a lift in spirits since posting this? I think we’re all having our down days now, this has dragged on for so long … Sending a hug πŸ€—

  4. Don’t try to cheer up, just allow yourself to sink into a ‘poor me’ attitude for a few hours and mutter and scold as you go about the day – or even weep if that helps. Downtime is something that happens and we should allow it, not deny it. That said, I’m sending good vibes and hugs from over here and hope that tomorrow the world will look better.
PS That old door isn’t going to cheer you up either, why not look out some of your lovely brightly painted doors and your azulejos!

    1. I was actually going to share a ‘funny’ in Jude’s colour theme but decided that would keep. I’m actually alright at the moment, Mari. It seems we might be off the red list soon and the hotel quarantine abandoned, all of which will help. I have a happy band of walker friends who are mostly in the UK at present and we keep each other cheerful. And James is viewing 3 houses today and reporting back so life could be much worse. Thanks for the hugs. I can always use them πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸ’•

    1. That’s kind of you, Elke! I’m actually feeling more positive since I put this up. The news is a bit more positive and my long face doesn’t help anyone. Thanks a lot πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸ’•

      1. No worries! Have a nice day. I have to go shopping (yeah?) with my son. He desparately needs shoes. He is old enough to buy them himself, of course, but the weather is frightful (rain and gusts of wind) and I have a car and drivers’ licence. The shops here have been open for a week (and the number are rising – is anybody surprised?)

  5. It’s seen better days, Jo, that door. I often wish that I could touch old objects like this, and ‘see’ some of the interesting things they’ve been party to over the years. Fabulous photo.
    And chin up! Here’s a hug and a smile πŸ˜ƒ πŸ€—

    1. Afraid so! Flights were cancelled yesterday and I can’t seem to shake off the gloom. Vaccine is so slow here, possibly not til Autumn, and yes, I have a fine life but I can’t see how we can come and child mind for the foreseeable.

      1. I know. I’ve a feeling that new grandchild of ours will have started school by the time we get to cuddle her for real. And the English variety have been almost as inaccessible 😦
