This looks much like our Saturday was, Jo. Not a cloud in the sky and a warm 21 degrees, amazing considering it’s winter. Today it’s raining, which is very welcome. It’s our first rain since February.
Everyone seems to be commenting on the cacti – are they prickly pears? Look like it to me, they have shocking spikes! Nice to have somewhere to wander where there is some bird life too. Watching birds is so calming.
Of course I like the photo of the cactus flowers and I think that down at the bottom you have a picture of a black-necked stilt, which we have here also. Looks like a delightful wander. Happy Saturday, Jo.
Most wanderings here are rather nice, Janet. Just home from a lovely Saturday lunch out and a chat on Zoom with Sue, Debbie and Margaret. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🤗💕💕
It’s glorious at the moment. Not too hot but lovely for wandering. T’ai chi outdoors this morning and lunch in a favourite restaurant with a secret garden. 🤗💕💕
All sounds wonderful. We’ve had a perfect week too, cool, breezy and not humid at all. That’s a rarity in Virginia summers. That will come to an end after this week. Today is rainy, but I have Spanish anyway.
How long is your online lesson? You are disciplined, Cathy! Since the virus we’ve just been doing a bit here and a bit there. No wonder we’re not fluent in Portuguese yet 🤨💕
My lesson is two hours long but it seems an eternity! The teacher lets the class ramble on and waste so much time; as a language teacher, I keep thinking how I would organize the class differently. Anyway, I don’t enjoy doing the class virtually; I would much rather have it in a classroom, but alas, who knows how long before that will be again. As for me becoming fluent, that would require a lot more study on my part outside of class! I’m abysmal at learning languages! I can only imagine Portuguese would be even harder and more frustrating. 🙂
Well…. I don’t know about that. I’m very productive in the mornings, but by afternoon, I’ve lost all interest in things and get very antsy! And unfocused. So much for my big plans of doing a watercolor a day. So far, I’ve done 4, and one went in the trash! 🙂
Yes, a watercolor a day is too excessive. I just wanted to practice, but it turns out, despite a 2-day class last August, I still don’t have a clue how to work with watercolor! I aimed to do small practice pieces, but they just never turn out like I envision. Oh well!
Just wandering is the best – an immersion in your surroundings with you eyes wide open and your mind at peace. 🙂 I love how the cacti are blooming there. Mark and I have been talking about Portugal a lot and can’t wait to check it out one year. Happy weekend, Jo!
What I meant was that the way they curl up on themselves they create a basket shape! Not that you can create a basket from them, that would be silly 🙄 Also known as resembling a birds’ nest.
