Six word Saturday

Join me for soothing t’ai chi?

This is the setting for my Saturday morning t’ai chi, but before we start I’d like to say an enormous thank you to all of you who commented on my previous post.  It’s not the first time that I’ve experienced the warmth of this community, but it was a powerful reminder of how lovely you all are, and I’m very grateful.  And feeling fine!  🙂

Meanwhile, Becky is feeling Spiky this month.  Don’t forget to join in, and remember, it’s a Square challenge. (but you can stretch it a bit…  🙂  )  I thought I’d join in with some very gentle spikes.  The butterfly had very ragged, spiky wings but they’re fluttering so happily that I’m afraid you can’t tell.  The flowers are definitely spiky though.  And beautiful, too.

Apologies to Debbie for exceeding my Six again.  She’s at fabulous Venice Carnival.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

  1. Greek yoghurt instead of chocolate cake? Are you really OK? Sounds like a pleasant day you had. I love all the sparking white you seem to be surrounded by. May Portuguese trip off your tongue – it has a much better chance than Polish! Hugs on my Sunday morning.

    1. I love Greek yogurt, Meg 🙂 🙂 That’s the back of the Carmo Church you can see- one of about 20 churches in Tavira. Suitably relaxed with a glass of red now. Hugs, sweetheart!

    1. I’ve been extremely indulgent today, Jim 🙂 🙂 Did some Portuguese homework then sat reading a book till it was time to put the slow cooker on. Coffee with a neighbour, supper, and it’s time to catch up with the blog. Thanks, darlin!

  2. You’ve really pushed the word envelope this Saturday, Jo. Off to the sin bin for you. (We’re watching rugby right now, hence the “sin bin” reference.) No t’ai chi for me this morning, but I did start the day with my yoga routine. I think that counts. Thanks for sharing the beautiful colors to brighten my grey, gloomy winter day. Have a lovely weekend.

    1. Still winter? I’m seriously out of touch with that season, Janet 🙂 🙂 I walked Becky through my water park the last time we had lunch together. I’ve been a bit lazy today 🙂

  3. I was going to ask about the water feature, but see you answered it in another comment. How nice to do Tai Chi outdoors, though I suspect unless you get up very early it will be too hot in the summer months. When do you have visitors? Easter hols?

  4. Smoothing spikes 🙂 I love it

Hope T’ai chi was good this morning, did a lovely man called Christian introduce himself to you. We were walking with him last Sunday (husband in A House in the Algarve) and we realised that you and him go to the same T’ai chi xx

      1. Their business? He’s an Estate Agent and she’s a book editor, although he also makes amazing sourdough bread and they are part of various local green campaigns xx

      2. It’s the green campaigns I was referring to then. I joined in part way through a conversation about storage bags. It’s a biggish group and we haven’t spoken since 😦

  5. A friend has just made me a 70’s stalwart of the dinner party, a Black Forest Gateau, with lashings of kirsch (I can smell it in my kitchen) and cream, not to mention her own cherries soaked in whatever. Wish I could share it with you but as I cut into it this evening I shall think of you.

  6. Lovely sight and blooming flowers for a sunny weekend, Jo. Hope you feel more settled soon…like you, I am not very flexible and anything like a move I find challenging. Stay strong and have a treat 🍫🍰💖😊

  7. Beautiful images for spiky and a lovely serene place for your t’ai chi! I’m intrigued by the water feature … is that for play/education?

    1. A bit of both, Annika. There is a small science museum just around the corner. The little fella thoroughly enjoyed turning the various wheels when he was here, and the sound of the water is a beautiful backdrop to the t’ai chi. 🙂 🙂
