“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” – Jawaharial Nehru
I’m not a great one for quotes, nor indeed for challenges and rules, but when a very lovely lady plucks at my heartstrings… well, I can’t help but respond. If it’s good enough for Annika Perry, who am I to quibble? I’ve long admired her writing, which seems to flow effortlessly.
The rules :
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Post a quote on 3 consecutive days.
- Share why this quote appeals so much to you.
- Nominate 3 different bloggers for each day.
Why this quote, from India’s first Prime Minister? I’m always straining at the leash, to be somewhere else. It’s a gentle reminder to self. The world IS a beautiful place and I don’t always need to go beyond my garden to experience the wonder. It’s all there, waiting for me. A rhododendron, after the rain, my source of today’s delight. Tomorrow? Maybe a little further.
My nominees? No hurry, ladies! Join in if you’d like :
Tish, my Writer on the Edge
Sue, at Words Visual
And Pauline, who’s Living in Paradise
See you all tomorrow!

So very true xx
PS just seen Mick has been in wars. Hope things are improving.

I do try to, Meg. 🙂 🙂 Are you not sleeping well? ( judging by the time on your comment) You’ll need your energy for the littles today. 🙂

Down early up early. I like to be awake with the sun. But I di try to sneak an afternoon nap. And the twins aren’t nearly as exhausting as they were 18 months ago. How about your energy? Packing up house must be physically and emotionally draining. Hugs between packing.

I couldn’t’ agree more with today’s quote. It is a good reminder if one desires to become a travel writer as well (maybe, one day…) that you don’t have to go far to find new experiences and adventures! So much to see, so much to do, so much to write about and share. 🙂

I think I must be slowing down, Liesbet 🙂 🙂 But I do have a choice of 2 itineraries for today. I wonder which one will win.

Whatever Nehru’s flaws, and there is a fair bit, he was a great writer 🙂 That is a lovely quote. xx

He’s not the only one with flaws. I’ve been known to have a few. 🙂 🙂 And I do like the quote.

I was enjoying my garden today until I noticed all the wretched bindweed shoots popping up all over! They are a nightmare to get rid of as when you try and pull them up they simply snap, leaving the running roots in the ground 😦 Hope you are having some lovely sunshine up there!

I think we might have some of that but I’m not sure. 😦 A clematis montana is my enemy no. 1. Think’s it owns the place. 🙂 🙂 This morning was really lovely and I read and pootled in the garden. Walked to t’ai chi, admiring all the cherry blossom, which has popped out overnight, and by the time I came out again it was cool and grey. Got mince and dumplings in the oven. I was going to nominate you for this tomorrow. Yes/no? There’s no rush to do it but if you don’t fancy it I won’t.

Thanks for the offer but I will decline if you don’t mind. My shoulders are really painful at the moment so I am trying to keep off the keyboard in case it is related to repetitive strain injury. Plus hoping to get out over the weekend. OH heads for Shropshire for a few days so I shall be on my tod. (Should have invited you down!!)

You should! I’d have come 🙂 🙂 Sorry about the shoulders. I thought you didn’t do Bank Hols because of the tourists. We’ll have a day out tomorrow and avoid the weekend, probably.

Yes, sorry about that, should have thought earlier, but I thought my daughter and her girls would come down for the weekend. Missed opportunity there. Could you fly to Newquay from somewhere close by? And I will be avoiding the coast – head to gardens, they are usually less popular.

No worries, darlin. I haven’t excatly known what was going on at this end either, but at least I have Poland and Lisa sorted out now. I’m hoping to be overrun with buyers this sunny weekend. 🙂 🙂 Though just one would do. I think I could probably do Newquay from Newcastle but I haven’t checked lately.

I’ve always loved rhodies, Jet, so this is my favourite bit of the year. We have six or seven smaller varieties in our garden. 🙂 🙂 Thanks, darlin!

That quote could be made for me Jo and such a lovely photo. I am trying not to be sucked into challenges but, heck, 3 days and I do have lots of quotes stashed away. So may be able to just fit it in before I go away thanks for thinking of me

Nice quote, Jo. Like you, I’m always itching to go elsewhere. I love being in my house or walking in nature, but I don’t have a garden to enjoy, mainly because I’m not interested in doing the work to maintain one. But is so nice to enjoy all the world has to offer, whether nature-made or man-made. 😊

Jo, a beautiful and tender reminder for us all – it’s so easy to become entrenched in the negative of the world around us we fail to see that beauty and charm. A lovely tender start of the challenge and a treat for this sunny morn! Thank you so much for your kind words…xxx
