A place to go back to?
I think so. Wouldn’t you? Do you have a Favourite Place asks Cheri in this week’s Daily Post Challenge. This is mine. The Eastern Algarve.
Have yourself a beautiful weekend and visit Debbie with Six Words.

I wouldn’t have expected you to choose anywhere else. Love the tile with the fisherman mending his net under the tree. Hope you are having a good Saturday, bit soggy here, but hopeful for tomorrow.

Well I could have done Hartlepool marina I suppose. Out in Durham with friends tonight so I’ll probably have a bad head tomorrow. Moderation, Jo! X

Beautiful! We can’t be there soon enough. We will be in Algarve for three days. Right now I have no idea where we should go? Any places you could recommend would be highly appreciated!!!!!!

Will you have a car? My favourite beach is over on the island of Armona, which you can reach from Faro or Olhao. Inland I would recommend Silves, Alte and the Monchique area. Depends where you are based. I’m obviously biased with Tavira and Cacela Velha (my lead photo 🙂 ) but Sagres at the other end is well worth a look too.

Thank you! Yes we will have a car. Of course we have to see the caves first. We will be based in Lagos, probably touristy places 😦

So that’s easy for Sagres, Silves and Alte. You’ll struggle for my end, which is totally different but there’s plenty to enjoy. 3 days will whizz! And Lagos has it’s lovely side too. Did you see the walk I did there with my daughter last November? X

Beautiful, Jo! I’d go back to this place. Usually, I’m not the kind of person who prefers going back to favorite places, when there are new places to be explored. That being said, there is some comfort and ease to returning to areas you love and are familiar with. I have a lot of favorite places in this world, but right now, because it isn’t warm and summer-y, I have been thinking about the Eastern Caribbean a lot. Also, because we have friends there…

I still hanker after new places but I have a husband who trys to reign me in, Liesbet. 🙂 🙂 No chance of getting him to the Caribbean.

Your love shines through these photos, Jo. I’m currently at my favorite place: northern Michigan. Even in the chilly, mucky spring, it feels so good.

That’s a lovely spot to watch the world go by, Janet. 🙂 🙂 The water trickles over a little weir at high tide, and at low you can watch them harvesting cockles on the river bed. Thanks, darlin! Have a happy day!

Yes! I’d go back, Jo. I’m with Eunice, that second shot is incredible! I’m curious, do you have any of your best photos enlarged and framed? I could picture that shot in my writing room. 🙂

I was already clambering into the tile image and then you obliged with some real life!
I don’t know the Algarve very well, but I think I must be more of a city girl as I would love to live in Lisbon. I doubt I’ll ever move anywhere permanently but if I did, Lisbon is in my top three! It will be appearing in a “fave place” post over the weekend.
