Six word Saturday

Just for Sue- because she asked!

It seems that storks, like my good friend Sue, don’t mind a spot of dereliction.   This wouldn’t be my chosen residence, but they do have a good view from up there, out across the River Guadiana to Spain.  There’s not a great deal of respect for these poor, forlorn warehouses, often fallen victim to street art, like these below, in Tavira.

Most of my week has been cloudless.  Hope you can say the same.  In six words please.

    1. I usually say street art because I’m never sure how to spell graffiti, Andrew. I used to refer to it all as scribble but some of it has definitely reached artistic levels these days. 🙂 🙂 How’s yourself?

      1. Only rain forecast here, but they’ve had none so are desperate. I’m hoping for a couple of dry days for Jerez on Wednesday but I’ll take whatever I get. 🙂 🙂

  1. Can I share Sue’s treat? All those lovely bits of peeping distressed brick work! Weather? 34° yesterday and winter-dressing-gown-and-slippers-with-rain today. Take your pick! Variable hugs to you. I just reread our Łódź meeting with delight as I tracked April-May in Warsaw.

    1. Wasn’t it wonderful? It makes me smile just thinking about it, Meg. 🙂 🙂 And I have to admit, one of my first thoughts when you told me this time was, how/where can we meet. I’m trying not to look at this new life of mine through rose tinted glasses, but really I’m having such a good time. Yesterday we were chasing camelias and then I did a bit of brolly twirling at a New Orleans Jazz evening. I should not have let Mick buy that second bottle of wine because I’m a bit sluggish today, but it was such nice company. A bit of country walking will soon sort me out today. Lots of rain is coming next week but they do need it desperately. I’m just hoping for a dry couple of days for Jerez. You’ll be counting days again, darlin. So many real life hugs stored for Jas and Maja. 🙂 (I have a Polish lady friend among the walkers)

  2. I was thinking that this chimney looks in a lot better condition than Becky’s ones. A shame they don’t rescue the warehouses and build flats in them like they have done in many places over here. I’d be a contender for a loft apartment in the sun 😀

  3. I like these, Jo… dereliction often has a certain fascination. 🙂
My travelling week (such as it is) doesn’t have photos, but I can put it in six words: “Peak District, peak optimism, peak positivity.” 🙂

  4. We had one good day (Wed) this week. My Beloved Sandra and I in shirtsleeves on the beach. Snow resumed on Thursday. No matter; we were headed home to our glacial mountains by then anyway.

  5. Forlorn and lonely, but kissed by a bit of street art. Wishing you wonderful walks this weekend, Jo. Looks like a busy one for me. Already half the weekend over and some annoying last minute things to fix lol 🙂

  6. It’s years since I’ve seen storks on chimneys – last time it was in Germany. I’m quite a fan of street art actually, but I agree these are not particularly fine examples. I think Berlin must be World Capital.

  7. I’m glad Sue asked! 😀 An atmospheric place to rest and nest … I just hope the chimney doesn’t collapse on them! Oh, it’s lovely and sunny here this morning … reckon the temperature might be a bit chillier though! I’ve dragged my onesie out of the cupboard in preparation of the artic freeze. Have a wonderful weekend, Johanna!😀🌺

  8. If there are any chicks in that nest I hope they don’t fall out 😦

We finally managed to get rid of all the rain round here and it’s been dry and sunny for a week now with signs of spring popping up all over the place, although it’s very cold and set to get colder if the weathermen are to be believed 😦

      1. I feel his pain. When I twisted my ankle in Surrey it took a good week to be able to walk on it. I hope that’s all it is, not the rotten Achilles tendon that bugs me.
