Funny what you can find when you dig about a bit. Trying to reduce my oceans of photo files, I opened up a folder downloaded from my phone. Many of the photos have been retained out of sentiment. I remember wandering in our marina one late afternoon, as the light lingered on the water. No other camera to hand, I took the first group.
The lock gates often have their admirers, especially if there’s a huddle of canoeists passing through. Yet again I must have been caught napping, without camera. It’s a while since I went down to the Quayside. I think these are custom made for this week’s Thursday’s Special.

Keep digging, Jo. I love these photos!!! Every one of them!
Have a wonderful day.

I love the moodiness of the first five – custom made for a Paula challenge since she is the queen of the moody photo. The light is wonderful too. And your eye for boats and water.

It sort of tells a story and I like that aspect of photography, Meg. 🙂 🙂 The photo file is full of snippets of my life that I’ve almost forgotten.
How is everyone in your clan? Weren’t some of them braving the storm? I know I owe you an email but I was saying to Jude I’m a bit off kilter. Probably change of season. The hugs are cool and grey today. 🙂

The first photo series of the dinghy pulling away from the quay, going back to the boat brings back a lot of memories (if I block out the grey water color). 🙂

I find it hard to delete unless they are really bad images. Been meaning to clear out stuff for 9 years now. Only way I’ll do it is to stop taking new photos for a year!

I could easily spend all day with those folks standing on and watching, what mystery and magic goes through the locks. Wonderful photos, Jo.

Love the play of light in the first sequence, Jo. A great find. Just goes to show – one needs keep going back to the old files.

Following your good example, Tish. 🙂 🙂 Actually it’s mostly because I’m getting perilously short of space on the laptop.

Buy yourself a large storage disk and put everything on that. A WD portable unit with 2 TB is only slightly over £50 at the moment.

I’m not good at retrieving stuff. I use a memory stick occasionally but it’s easier just to ditch the old stuff. Life’s not long enough to keep looking back xx

I love that ripple of light you caught in the first set – it almost has a 3-d feel – or looks like liquid metal – and the lower right photo (with the large shot of the boat) has a mood all its own. Like the white in the water in the second shot – but from the reader – the colors in that pic jumped out

As I stood there the light was changing on the water all the time and I took a sequence, Yvette. These are probably the best. 🙂 🙂
