Six word Saturday

The night the lights went out!

Fortunately we had a candle or two.  After we’d opened the wine and found batteries for the old radio, I started to play.

Isn’t candlelight pretty?  Wishing you all a great weekend.  Which 6 words will you be sharing with Debbie?

  1. You made lemonade from the lemons, Jo. Sounds quite nice. 🙂 I’m not much for scented candles (or anything else), either, and if you happen to walk by a store where they’re sold or, worse yet, candles and all sorts of other scented things, it’s overpoweringly awful!! 🙂

    1. I like fruity smells, Janet, but sometimes it’s like being thumped in the head. I did enjoy our Internet free evening but I wouldn’t be long before having withdrawal symptoms 🙂 🙂 Happy weekend, hon!

      1. One of my pet peeves is women who wear so much perfume that it knocks your olfactory system out at ten yards!! (Or walking through the perfume section of a big store.) Perfume should be subtle, not bludgeon you, attract rather than repel. 🙂 That’s my rant for the morning. Cheers!

      1. Yes, been a bad week with floods and dirty godmen and bad politics. Back home at the moment. Off to spend time with my FIL for his birthday over the weekend.

  2. We had an (intentional, advertised) outage last week. It was in the paper in advance; we both read it & both forgot about it. When the lights went out (10PM) we were taken aback for a few seconds, then remembered the paper. Found candles quickly enough and finished up the Scrabble game.

  3. I find it is alright for an hour or so, but then it becomes boring. Hard to read by candlelight and if it is cold and there is no heating… Easy to see why so many babies are born after major power failures 😉

  4. Looks like you kept yourself company in the dark, and hope it was cozy. Very nice low-light shots – dreamy, romantic and hope the power came back on soon. Have a good weekend 🙂

  5. We often have power cuts in Spain, especially in winter or during a storm. It takes a night without electricity to remind us of the small pleasures of drinking wine and playing cards and talking by candlelight!

My settings say i should get them so not sure what has happened . . .hoping it is a temporary fault. In meanwhile I am today popping round to see everyone I know I have left a comment with today to alert them!
