Six word Saturday

Could you entertain yourselves today, please?

I shall be busy helping my son to move home, so I thought I could leave you with a bit of fun from the Brass Band Festival in Durham last weekend. The atmosphere was great and we had a smashing time, despite drizzly, miserable weather.  It’s not the same as being there but I have videos of my favourite two bands, Back Chat Brass and Xaral’s Dixie (all the way from Portugal- small world!)

Sharing six words with Debbie will keep you out of mischief.  Go on- you know you want to!  Happy weekend!

  1. Jo, I wish I had your organizational skills. I get the sense that you are always on the move, but still able to sustain meaningful connections and devote time to your family. So… even though you’re busy, you still manage to entertain us brilliantly!

    1. Did you listen to any of the music on the links, Gabe? The bands were so young and full of life. It was a great feel good experience. 🙂 🙂
Sometimes I’m just lucky and in the right place, you know. We had friends coming from their home in the Midlands to this event, which we hadn’t even thought about going to. My life is a mix of the humdrum, and minor adventures. Yesterday was spent cleaning the son’s old house and helping him move. Exhausting but wonderful to see him settled somewhere nice after a bit of a rough ride. It’s all just life, isn’t it, Gabe? Some great, some diabolical 🙂 Thank you for your kind words.

      1. hehehe “I’m just lucky and in the right place” THIS is something that I’m used to hearing from heroes (heroines) and successful people when asked how they are able to accomplish the seemingly impossible 😉

I like to think that chance favors the prepared mind (coined by Louis Pasteur-the guy that made milk safe to drink again).

And I suspect you have a very “prepared mind.”

      2. And often a very tired body. 🙂 But I had a lovely little interlude with a cream scone at an Open Garden event this afternoon. Hope you’re having a good weekend, Gabe.

  2. Music always does the trick of entertainment. Loved the hair style of the guy on the far right, they all looked like they were having fun😄 Good luck with the house move, I hope the weather behaves for you.

  3. Great musical energy, Jo. I hope it transferred to moving house. (On a musical note, I discovered last night that Johnny Cash was a frequent visitor to the area near my daughter’s, visiting a doctor friend who had a property nearby.)

    1. It was 10 o’ clock last night when we got home and we were wrecked, Meg, but the place was ‘coming together’. It’s a big old mill conversion, with one of those pipes Jude loves. Brick walls and pillars and great space inside but it looked dreadful covered in black plastic bags and flat packs. 🙂 🙂 We left them debating where to put artwork, and looking so happy together. At least they now have somewhere to store clothes. Contemplating a semi-lazy Sunday. 🙂

  4. The performers looked like they had so much fun with their instruments and the music. They must be very good and played nice music because despite the wet weather people stood to watch 😀 Good luck with helping the son move, Jo. Sounds very exciting for him. Have a good weekend too. It is a lazy one here, finally 🙂
