The life of a floral display
In Summer there are countless celebrations across the Algarve, but it’s always a delight to arrive and find the streets decked with paper flowers. Last Friday in Tavira all was splendour, but after the weekend came the slow process of deflowering. What better way to share than a Collage?
It’s Saturday and yet again Debbie has six words to make you smile. Do go and join in! And have a great weekend!

That’s amazing Jo 🙂 The bandstand at the top is interesting, it looks so British!

We do have strong links with Portugal, and there are bandstands in most of the towns and villages. They look so pretty, dressed up 🙂 🙂

Thankyou, Jo… I like to be succinct. 🙂
It’s been an anxious few days, but there’s a quiet positivity in there, too. 🙂
I hope you’re having a lovely weekend enjoying the Iberian sunshine!

Good to hear. 🙂 I’m back in a rather rainy Britain again, but I had a good afternoon at a surprisingly entertaining Brass Band festival, with friends.

Our great British sunshine resumes on Monday… so I’m told. 😉

They do this kind of thing so well in Portugal, Ann. I’ve seen it many times and it always makes me smile. 🙂 🙂 Any progress at home? I just got back late Thursday and I haven’t really had time to collect myself yet.

Think of all the people hours!!! I’m home alone tonight with four teenagers and at least 4000 decibels. Flowers are an oasis of peace. I’ve just managed to call my granddaughter’s boyfriend by the previous boyfriend’s name, so I really have it all under control! I hope your Algarve stay is wonderfully relaxing, my dear. A few extremely noisy hugs from here to there.

Nope! Sunshine is a thing of the past. Back in rainy England and on my way to a Brass Band festival of all things! And with a bit of a sore head after a Girls Night. Silly me xxx

So many white paper flowers around town, Jo. I wonder what happens if it gets windy or rains 😦 That said, very beautiful and looks like great sunshine weather too. Happy weekend and enjoy it. Busy one over here 😊

oh wow this is amazing – do this hold this festival every year or was this a something special for this?

Pip just asked the same question. 🙂 I thought the Saints day for Tavira was mid June and we’ve never managed that. We have seen this one before though so it must coincide roughly with Mick’s birthday.

Is this event on every year at the same time, Jo? We’d love to go along We always hear about the event after it has happened 😦

I think so, Pip! We just caught the tail end but there’s always something happening. There’s a link to the TI that gives you details of upcoming events but we usually just arrive and are surprised. 🙂 🙂

Wow, what a nice way to decorate for a festival …. and paper flowers … I have very mixed feeling when real flowers are being used for festivals, even if it’s beautiufl. Great entry, Jo, Welcome back!

Thanks, sweetheart! I’ve just been smiling at your sculptures. 🙂 🙂 Dispelling the weekend gloom. All go here- it was a Girl’s Night last night so I’m feeling a little frail, and I’ve got zumba soon, then meeting friends at a Brass Band Festival in Durham. Not sure my head can cope. 🙂 Saturday hugs!
