“In one drop of water are found all the secrets of the oceans”- Kahlil Gibran
I spent very little time at the beach on my recent trip to the Algarve, but there’s an ugly/beautiful stretch of river beach quite close to our home in Tavira. On a warm, February, late afternoon I sat on a rock and just let my thoughts drift right out there, with the tide.
The Happy Traveler has kindly nominated me for the 3 Days, 3 Quotes challenge. It’s taken me the longest time to respond. Too much daydreaming and not enough action? I apologise!
I’ll be back tomorrow with another quote. If you’d like to take up the challenge, please feel free to do so. Happy Thursday to you!

I’d find quotes on three consecutive days a challenge too. I admire you! Love the photos too, especially the yellow flowers against the sky and the sand shapes in the third one. The bike shot is a great story-telling photo.

Done tomorrow’s and just fiddling with Saturday. I’m not sure but I might just be ahead of the game??? Never happened before but James is home tomorrow evening with 3 week’s s washing and a slightly broken car (he was shunted on the way to work on Tuesday 😦 ) so I think things are about to get busy 🙂 Thanks a lot, Meg. I love your company, and I’m sorry I pestered you.

Gibran is always a winner, he must have been an incredible person mustn’t he?
The third picture, is it looking towards the salt pans and the market?

Not exactly, Gilly. Did you ever find Gran Plaza, the new shopping centre? That’s on our side of town. Straight down from there is a road leading to ‘Shell beach’. It’s kind of parallel to the Quatro Aguas road and the bit you mean. It’s mostly used by locals, like the guy with the bike who was digging for clams. 🙂 🙂

That sounds very pleasant. I get to the beach as often as I can. It was lovely and bright this morning (in the UK) and we had a lovely stroll. 🙂

It’s a long way from the perfect spot, Sherri, but the sun was warm and we were tired from walking that morning. There was just enough rock space there for you. I shuffled up 🙂 🙂

I thought it looked pretty darn perfect Jo…a place to breathe, and that’s good enough for me 🙂 Haha…thanks for shuffling up, feels good that… ❤ xx

It’ll be a washing and ironing one for me, Sherri, and I may get to watch the end of War and Peace while I do it. 🙂 Been promised out for tea on Saturday if I play my cards right. Happy Sunday, sweetheart! With your boys, i’m sure 🙂

That laundry just never goes away does it? I still have the final two episodes of W&P to watch so don’t give anything away if you get to the end before I do! Oh tea sounds lovely, I’m sure you’ll be suitably spoiled as you deserve ❤ 🙂 Thanks Jo, my boys are coming home next weekend in lieu – hubby's birthday and our 10th wedding anniversary all within the next couple of weeks. Tea with Mum on Sunday 🙂 See you on Monday dear Jo xx

It’s a bit of a ragged beach, LolaWi, used mostly by the locals for collecting clams, but it’s a good spot to watch the ferry come and go. Glad you could sit in the sun with me for a while. 🙂

Grazie, Jo, for sharing the beautiful words by Gibran. The pictures are lovely. I especially like the one with the little minute yellow flowers sticking out from the big stones. I like the (apparent) contrast between them. But don’t they (and we all) share the same destiny: being All in One?

It’s a rock strewn river beach, Simona. Not the prettiest spot, but those yellow falseheads seem to get everywhere at this time of year in the Algarve. Do you have them in Italy? Yes- we’re all in this together. 🙂 Many thanks for your company and kind words.

Actually I feel ashamed but I cannot tell you if we have those pretty yellow flowers in Italy or not. I guess we have but I’ve never seen them before. Or is it that sometimes you just need someone to bring poetry into your life to open up your eyes 🙂 ?

Maybe 🙂 I seem to have seen so many of them this year. I’ve never been to Italy in Spring. You’ll have to go and look for them for me.Thanks for the kind words.
