Some posts seem to just glide effortlessly onto the page. Others don’t! They kick and bite and scratch. You can’t find just that photo that you wanted, lost in the annals of untidy folders. Too many thoughts collide in your head, often at silly times like 5 in the morning. And then there are those that miss the deadline by a smidgeon. Just enough to be annoying. I’ll leave you to work out which this is.
Rustle and tussle
A backlit ballerina
Twirling in the wind
And whilst I have been known to cheat occasionally, in the interests of a beautiful azulejo or two- can you spot these people sitting on benches?
I’m off out to kick a few leaves now. You never know- I might spot somebody loitering on a bench. If I do I may even share it with Jude.

ha ha sono proprio contenta di non essere la sola a fare confusione con i propri archivi! L’immagine con le foglie è straordinaria, sembra di poterle toccare!Le azulejas mi piacciono tantissino 🙂

I wish I had a system that worked, Annalisa, but mostly I rely on my memory. And as the years go by… what memory? 🙂 🙂 Thank you for smiling with me. Have a beautiful weekend! Your leaves must be truly glorious now in the mountains. Sending hugs!

Ha- confession! I was going to do a post because I got some nice ones from the Misericordia but after you did your lovely post on the church I decided not. Couldn’t resist snucking a few in here though. 🙂 I was just about to come see your Thursday’s. Good week so far, Gilly?

Okay, a boring training at work all this afternoon, but hey tomorrow is Friday. You didn’t need to delay posting your pics, I’m always behind and want to find time to do some more Algarve posts. I didn’t finish with Barcelona either and that was in April. You’re getting quite keen on haiku aren’t you? it’s fab x:-)x

If I don’t use it, it gets forgotten about, Gilly. As I was looking back for the photo I wanted for Jude (all the way back to 2004 and still didn’t find it) I saw a few things I’d meant to post but I keep taking photos all the while. I have some murals from Bristol and Kazimierz in Krakow that I was going to use for Cee’s challenge, but it’s another week already. 🙂
I’ve never read poetry much, always preferring prose, but I love playing with words. Haiku seems such a natural form to describe Autumn, though I have no idea beyond the basic. I’m always afraid someone will read it and think ‘who does she think she is, messing with stuff like this?’. Thanks for the encouragement.

And judging by the beautiful simplicity of this post (your ‘autumn leaves’ photo is stunning) and delightful haiku, I would have said that this was one of those ‘easy’ posts, but you prove that looks are deceptive. The amount of time I give to my posts takes away from my writing, but I can’t help myself…so maybe I need to take another break, ha! Hope your next post comes without the angst Jo…but whatever you do, you bring your readers great joy 🙂

I usually have a rough idea of what I’m going to be doing in the week, Sherri, because ad lib isn’t my strongest suit, but this one was a bit of a shipwreck. I have about 5 alternative last lines for the haiku and don’t really like any of them. Good job I’m my own biggest critic. 🙂 And definitely good idea about the break 🙂 I’m game! Many thanks for your kindness, darlin’.

I almost never start a post that I don’t finish, Madhu, but I have one in my Dashboard for Cee’s street art and Ailsa’s paint, combined- the moment will never come again. 🙂 🙂 But thank you!

Looks like people have been conversing on benches for years, Jo! I know what you mean about finding those photos. I think I know exactly which folder the one I want for a post is in and……not there! I waste more time searching for a certain picture than I care to admit here. 🙂 Here’s to the post that glides effortlessly on to the page and the photos to go with it!

I had ‘promised’ one to Jude, and could I find it? Nope 😦 I also mentioned a yellow postbox in Majorca more years ago than I care to remember. Now I’d really have to go digging for that one! In a cupboard somewhere. 🙂

Lovely pictures and post but sorry I have to point out a top ten typo in the third sentence. I’m sure you mean the ‘annals of untidy folders’ but if you really meant ‘anals’ you have some truly unique places to keep your pictures!

After a morning of tangling with slow computers and finance I was delighted to find your bench post, even if it did cause you much hair pulling and sleepless nights. I am impressed by the lengths you go to to please your humble
subjectsfollowers. Love the azulejo benches, and you managed to find sculptures and real people too, so a real humdinger of an entry. I must confess to chortling over the comments. Sorry! And I hope you are feeling a little less grumpy now 🙂Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the leaves – now that photo should be in the festival of leaves challenge instead of hanging around on here 😀
