Hareshaw Linn on a Summer day
Linn or waterfall
Teaming down the weathered rock
Captive in the pool
For Viv, now in France, who knows this part of the world, and who most of you know for her poetry. Hareshaw Linn is described as one of the best walks in Northumberland.
I hope the weekend brings you a little sunshine. Not too much! And that you’ll share it with Cate at Show My Face. My walk on Monday takes me back down to Yorkshire. See you then!

oh nice, im familiar with waterfall and cascade, now i’ve learnt linn

It was a lovely woodland walk, Colline, through dappled shade. And in good company too. 🙂

Going on some trails ourselves this weekend. Am hoping to round a bend and find a cave or waterfall. Thanks for sharing! This is just beautiful 🙂

I hope you do! 🙂 I’d read about this trail before, but it was the first time I’d ever been. Thank you 🙂

You might have an audience! There were one or two dog walkers about 🙂 (and me, of course!)

Hiya, darlin’! So funny- I was just thinking on my way back from zumba that I’d have to look and see what posts you have up. 🙂
We had a really nice day up there yesterday with some very old friends (but young, if you know what I mean 🙂 )

Hi Jo, I haven’t written many posts since I got home, except for one short one today, but I imagine I’ll get back into it when I’m feeling more settled. I was quite busy with my sister in Los Angeles, and now I’ve been busy getting back into my routine here in Virginia.
Glad you had a good day with your old but young friends. 🙂 xxx

Haha, I just changed the name. I don’t know why! It is good to be back home but my body doesn’t want to sleep when it’s supposed to! I’ve been awake since 3 am and it’s 5:00 am now!

Looks lovely, Jo. And good to see you are trying out haiku….and for my two penny worth, leave out ‘the’ in that second line, wouldn’t you agree it flows (pun intended) better?
LikeLike
Accept the pun but not the suggestion, Sue 🙂 🙂 I need it for my 7 syllables.
Just back from zumba and have seen your link in my Inbox so I’ll go there next. Thank you!

No you don’t….ignore the strict syllable count, because English is way different from Japanese, and it’s better to get the mood than the syllables….(well that’s what I have been told on more than one occasion)
LikeLike
Yes, I’ve heard that too. Gilly is a purist and I think I might err that way. In any case, ‘the’ is staying 🙂

Beautiful waterfall. So inviting to jump into on a hot summer’s day…though I don’t think that’s a wise thing at all. You never know what’s at the bottom 😀

I think I can guarantee no Loch Ness monster, Mabel, but beyond that I can’t be sure 🙂

That looks very inviting – especially on a hot day (which it isn’t at the moment, but I can imagine 🙂 )

Well, so long as you’ve got a kagool or whatever, Rich 🙂 It’s actually not been bad up this way lately, but there’ll be a price to pay! September/Oct might be good for Autumn colour. (horrors- don’t want to think about that yet!) Did you sort anything out for Madeira? I’ve been fancying the Azores for the longest time and now Ryanair and Easyjet are flying there.
Anyway- somewhere near Lindisfarne/Bamburgh is the place to be. 🙂

Cheers, I’ve always wanted to go to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Would you recommend staying there, and seeing Lindisfarne etc on daytrips by car, or the other way around?
No Madeira plans for this year : ( Northumberland (in Autumn) might replace that idea!

Family planning, Rich, or is that very rude of me to ask? I’ll have a proper look and email you with some thoughts. 🙂

That’s a nice thought. 🙂 🙂 It was maybe more about the leaf reflections dancing in the pool for me. It wasn’t a sunny day but just as we reached the linn there was a little halo of sunshine. Really beautiful! Thanks, darlin’. Belated happy B to the youngster! 🙂
