A double delight
Chasing away the rain and pain
With a child’s rapture
You may be wondering if you’ve come to the right blog. I don’t write poetry. I borrowed the title from my lovely friend Gilly. ‘Why not give it a try?’ she asked. So here I am!
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible. Thanks, Gilly!

Oh, ein feiner neuer und ein älterer Regenbogen. I think they are married, smile…
Ich liebe Haiku’s – aber die Google Translator ist not perfect 🙂 Ernst
Have a good time…

So exciting to see a double rainbow and well captured my friend 🙂
I’ve had a couple of goes at the Haiku lately, just to shake things up a bit on the site. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and this is a lovely start 🙂

Actually our connection seems to be grinding along the last few days which is unusual. We have BT so can’t blame Mr Branson.

Lovely photo – I used to see double rainbows over the bay where I lived in Fiji, so this made me feel nostalgic!

I love double rainbows, Jo. I saw a triple rainbow once, but by the time I got my camera, it had faded.

Triple??? I was excited as a kid with this one. Hanging out of the bedroom window. Don’t know what the neighbours thought! X

I don’t think it will be a regular feature Lynne but I just had to use my double rainbow somewhere. Thanks for the encouragement x

Nice work and great rainbow photo too! Haiku was always one of my favorite forms of poetry when I was studying writing in college. Perhaps I’ll give it a shot again 🙂

Please do. It’s my first go but I might just get the hang of it.

This is like a triple scoop ice cream surprise; a double scoop of rainbow and a scoop of haiku. Yummy.

Beautiful rainbows. So lucky to have seen it and a great capture. You must have been wondering if your eyes were playing tricks on you. And wonderful haiku – it flows along very nicely 🙂

Thanks a lot. 1st try with Haiku so hoped for the best. I was hanging out of the bedroom window precariously for the shot!

I must say I was a little confused, Jo! I thought, did WordPress make a mistake and put “restless jo” on “lucid gypsy’s” post by accident? Nice to see you trying your hand at haiku. I love your little poem. You may have another feature to start adding regularly to your blog! 🙂

I was just looking at the Carpe Diem site, which is a daily feature. Ese uses it regularly. Do you know her? Old dogs and new tricks, Cathy. Barking mad! 🙂

It’s good to always be challenging yourself and trying new things, Jo! Good for you!! I’ve seen Ese’s blog but don’t follow. I can’t even keep up with the people I do follow!!

I don’t follow her either but hop in now and then. 300 is too many isn’t it? X

Oh my gosh Jo! If I could just be a full-time blogger, maybe I could keep up with more people. But work takes up more of my time than I’d like, and travel, though wonderful, also takes a lot of my time! Not enough hours in the day!

Thanks so much for the encouragement, Dina. I hesitated before pressing Publish! I looked up the definition of haiku and it suggested ‘nature’. The double rainbow was one of the most exciting things I’d seen in ages. I rushed around like a mad thing trying to get a decentish shot. 🙂 And to you and ‘the family’. 🙂
