1 Day 1 World Project : 11.00- 12.00

Crimdon beach

Crimdon beach

Thursday is usually my Nordic walking day.  Sometimes there are just a few of us, like the happy band above.  The others missed a treat last week because, for a short while, the sun beamed and winked in the puddles left by the retreating tide.

I love the ruggedness of the landscape

Don’t you love the ruggedness of this landscape?

And the murky reflections

And the murky reflections that it creates

The strange shapes of the cliffs

The strange shapes of the cliffs

And the rocks beneath

The rocks below

With their seaweed frocks

In their seaweed frocks

And crooked seams

With slightly crooked seams!

I thought I had a good subject here for Lisa’s 1 Day 1 World Project.  We start walking around 10.30am, and I intended to use the photos in last week’s 10.00- 11.00 time slot.  When I uploaded them, I realised I hadn’t started taking the shots till after 11.00!  Too busy Nordic walking, and talking. (naturally!)  Well, I guess that’s what we’re there for.

It’s sad to see this project come to an end.  Even though I haven’t managed to take part each week, I’ve followed it’s progress.  Lisa promises one last round up next week, and as a grand finale I really have to have one more play with Lunapic.  Don’t I?

And because Thursday’s Special, and Paula’s home, I’m linking up there too.  She has the most delicious night time shot and if you have some spare time you can even enrol in her Portuguese classes too- for free!

    1. I thought I’d get away with using Lunapic again because I used it on a few of Lisa’s posts. I love playing with it, Madhu, but I know everyone’s not so keen. It’s easy walking for me because it’s just ‘up the road’. 🙂

  1. Great walk, Jo….nothing like coastline. I loved the calming ripples in your last shot, and your description of rocks draped with seaweed was great- rocks in frocks indeed! 🙂

    1. Crimdon is just a few miles north of here, on the way to the collieries, Viv. There’s a caravan site up above it so it gets the dog walkers and kids playing in the rock pools sometimes. 🙂

  2. I want GPS coordinates for these beaches and rocks!!! Thank you for advertising my Portuguese course, Jo 🙂 Also, I am very flattered with your contribution to my special Thursday. I like your lunapic processing. I saw it twice on your photos before and it works fabulously every time.

    1. Just head for our house and I’ll take you up there, Paula. It’s only about 15 minutes by car 🙂
Some people don’t like the ‘bounce’ or ripple so I have to be sparing with them but I didn’t think you’d mind. Sorry to link 2 two posts but I wanted to do both yours and Lisa’s today and it seemed to work ok.

      1. Nooo, it is fine (don’t ever apologize for linking on several places – my ego is fine with it). I agree about ripples – I love them, but if you use them sparingly as you do now, they will produce a wow effect. How is your Portuguese skill today? 😉

    1. It’s not far from here, Jill, but I definitely won’t be going today. It’s pouring! 🙂 Heading up to Durham with my brolly, to meet a friend. Hope you’re having a good week!

      1. I love a blue sky. If I have a lot of chores that need to be done in the house, if the sun is shining and the sky is blue it somehow gives me the energy to get things done! The sun is shining at the moment, so I am getting on with some admin (and allowing myself to be distracted, of course!). 🙂
