There’s nothing I like better than to crest the brow of a hill and see it sparkling in the distance. It’s like a magnet from then on and my gaze keeps returning to it, imagining myself on that shore. I’ve lived within sight of the sea for most of my life, and cannot imagine a time where I couldn’t stroll on a beach at will. It’s lucky for me that there are endless stretches of cliff top walking in my rugged corner of north eastern England.

These photos were taken this morning on the stretch of coast just south of Seaham. You may remember, I posted recently about the town and its regeneration in No time like the present.
This is my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge. The sea is a subject that never fails to engage me. I’m off now to check out the other entries. Come with me?
Such beautiful sights Jo and it looks so peaceful. Great shots and thanks for sharing hon. 😀 *big hugs*

I was trudging along with my group of walkers, who ask “why do you take so many photos?”, Sonel. Simply because I love to, and sometimes the results aren’t even too bad 🙂 They’re used to me now and call me Snappy!

I so agree with you Jo, when we drive home we love that sparkling sea as we crest the ridge, before the final descent to our place, which nestles behind the trees … great photos of your lovely wild coastline 🙂

Just happened to be on that stretch with my walking group this morning, Colin. The sky was blue and with a warm wind- all was right with the world. (till I fell over and hurt my wrist 🙂 )

Your seascapes are breathtaking. Those cliffs with the billowing grasses, the beaches snuggled close to the cliffs and that wide open sea flanked by the wondrous sky is not something that many of us live with. You get the award for truly living close to the sea. 🙂

I was out with the walking group this morning, Viveka, and by chance we did this section of coast. Otherwise it would certainly have been Portugal, but it’s nice to promote the home front. I noticed you have a couple of posts up so I’ll be catching up soon 🙂 Meantime, have a hug or two.
