Thursday- Lingering look at windows, week 24

Sunrise framed in my front window

I’m staying local with my windows again this week.  In fact, some of them are downright personal!  You want to look through my windows?  I’m warning you- I’m a very slovenly housewife.  You may need to bring your own duster.

Gorgeous end of day photo from the bedroom window. Hello neighbours!

And speaking of the neighbours, isn't this sweet?

I took some nice window photos in Durham yesterday, but I think I’d better save them for next week.  You can have too much of a good thing you know.  Incidentally, anyone know of a good window cleaner?

Please excuse my slightly frivolous contribution to Lingering look at Windows this week.  Thanks Dawn.  I’ll be round to check out some more entries later.

  1. All of the views are lovely, but I’m especially partial to the first two. Love the pinkish sky through those gorgeous windows!

  2. I think all of us that contribute to this challenge love a good snoop. It is a good excuse if we are caught “Oh I am just taking this for my blog…” ha-ha-ha… 🙂 loved being invited into your house and garden Jo

    1. Thanks, Pomme! I was poised outside of a very pretty teashop the other day, dying to take a shot but there was a couple right in the window seat. I kind of backed off far enough that they wouldn’t notice me, and quite ruined the shot. 🙂

  3. Frivolous or not, I enjoyed a look at your windows and as far as I’m concerned, if you are slovenly then I am downright filthy because your windows are much cleaner than mine 🙂

  4. I love looking through windows (that sounds terrible!) When I was living in the city I’d take the dogs for a walk in the early evenings and every house I would pass told a story through the lights coming from their windows 😀 I love your windows and the lovely views you have, Jo 😀

      1. Oh, the same here Jo, especially in my case where I love to avoid all contact with people when I can. What I meant was that I do love looking in their windows when I walk past their homes and when the curtains are drawn it’s like I can actually “feel” the atmosphere that exists in that home. There are some homes around here that I wouldn’t go into even if they pay me. Creepy! 😀

  7. Nice seeing where you live and I’m not much of a cleaner either. A window cleaner popped by the other day saying mine needed cleaning and I agreed but said I was only renting the place. He said I could still hire him–I could that’s true. I didn’t though. I feel a little bad about that.

    1. My husband is a landscape gardener, Bebs. We constantly argue about what constitutes a good looking garden. Sunrises, sunsets- they’re free, aren’t they? 🙂

    1. I’m the world’s nosiest person when it comes to looking in windows, Pat. Especially when they’re lit up and cosy on a night.
Thanks, hon. That’s my home town (the Headland part, anyway) 🙂

  8. I think your house looks very tidy, and that conservatory looks a lovely place to sit with an afternoon tea (or, in your case, coffee) – especially when it’s not quite as warm outside as you might wish.

    1. I wasn’t sure, Sue. This is a blog about travel and I do like to keep the content relevant and beautiful, but the little imp in me takes over sometimes. 🙂
