Window!

You know I can’t resist Jake’s Sunday Post, don’t you, but I really can’t call this a Sunday Post on a Friday!  Hence the title.  My resistance is low today and I’m just going to squeeze in a few of the lovely windows I gazed at, or through, on my recent Algarve trip.

Memories!  Memories!  Don’t you love them?  Thanks Jake for brightening this grey English day for me.  Soon be Sunday again.

    1. It was the perfect challenge from my perspective, Jake. Oh dear, I couldn’t resist that! It’ll be a tricky one. Windows was much easier. So glad that you’re here again this week. Many thanks. 🙂

    1. I’m still playing catch up since my return, Paula, and hopped on here tonight to see if he’s around. I think he’s been posting late, but time is way ahead in the Phillippines so I’m confused. (constantly!)
      Thank you. 🙂

      1. Yes, I have figured out that if Jake does not post by Sunday afternoon our time, he won’t do it at all for the week. I really like Jake and his challenges, and recently I joined another challenge that I don’t really enjoy just to make up for the lack of Jake :(. I remember the times when he would publish his post on the night between Friday and Saturday, and I would be out hunting the photo on Saturday after breakfast – those were the times!!!

      2. They were. Life must be complicated for him at the minute. If ever I think about running a challenge, I think twice. It’s a big commitment.
Also, if I can, I like to explore my own ideas sometimes instead of being tugged hither and thither by the challenges. 🙂

      3. Of course, it is a commitment, I love having my own ideas, but I am a sucker for a challenge and endless possibilities of interpreting it 🙂

    1. Oh, I don’t know, Sam- I could see us doing “Flying down to Rio”? You’re probably not old enough to remember it, but I love the old Fred and Ginger movies. 🙂

      1. I love Fred and Ginger movies although I can’t remember any specific one, but I do remember the amazing dancing and beautiful dresses she would wear. I used to spend my weekends as a child watching old movies especially musicals 🙂

  1. Something about windows….
I like the old one with all the metal lacework. It has been around for a while and “seen” lots of things I think!

    1. There are lots of ramshackle doors like this in the Eastern Algarve, Madoqua. Often sitting side by side with something grand, as does this one. I love the contrasts. 🙂

    1. Well, in real life the windows I would probably go for is the tiny patio with french doors and an Algarve chimney. The location is superb, in a small village called Santa Luzia, very near Tavira, and directly facing the salt marshes. It’s small and manageable too. Fantasy is the big one in the first shot. The house parties I could have there! (but I’d need a butler and a maid)
Can’t wait to see your windows, Diane. 🙂

  2. The shabby one wins for me, although I really like the light in the first one. I don’t know how I’ve managed to resist this challenge – I’ve got hundreds of window photos 🙂

    1. That shabby door was right next door to the building with the palatial balcony that was my first photo, Madhu. It’s that kind of place. Many thanks- have a great weekend. 🙂

    1. There are some gorgeous ones, Suze. You got any Belfast stuff up yet? Will check later. Am limping off to t’ai chi with a badly bruised big toe now (too ambitious walking programme in the Algarve in the wrong shoes. Silly me!) 🙂

    1. A few nice ones, I think, and some dream places to live in. Many thanks, Sonel. Have a great weekend. It’s a Bank Holiday here so the weather’s abysmal- plenty of chance to catch up. 🙂

    1. That’s my second fave. The first photo is my bestest, and wouldn’t I love to live there! (except I’d need a maid and some help with the cleaning) 🙂
