Random moments from an Algarve week
It had just bounced with rain and the bottle brush plant was sodden.
Then there’s one that would fit well in my recent post on “fontes”.
And an item that I was much taken with. More to come in a future post.
Then my little side trip with Flat Ruthie.
So now you know how I spent my week. It was wonderful looking back and now it’s your turn. To play Six word Saturday you need to visit Cate’s Show My Face so click on the link or the banner at the top of this page, and get started. My Six word Saturday page will show you what I’ve been up to in the past. Feel free to browse. See you next week.

I definitely need to travel and see this in person! Your photos are so alluring!

Bless you Barbara, how can I go wrong with subject matter like this!

Fabulous photos, I love the blue niche or maybe it’s a doorway, under the bottlebrush.

Thanks a lot! It’s an azulejo panel- the tiles appear all over Portugal. The ones in Alte commemorate the work of a local poet Candido Guerreiro.

I did a double-take on the ‘bottle-brush’ plant, heh. 🙂

I’m assured by my plant expert (know it all!) husband that it’s a calystemnon (though I’ve probably spelt it wrong), but I’ve always known them as bottle brush plants. I love them and we have a baby one outside our Tavira house.

Hahaha. I’ve never seen one before but the name is very descriptive. 🙂

Thank you! A story in pictures. I wonder sometimes if I’m not in the wrong challenge, but I’m no photographer and I like doing it this way.

Thanks Betty. I really didn’t think we were going to see the Folklore Festival as the skies opened just as we got there and we were marooned in the car for threequarters of an hour. We were very lucky and the skies cleared so the procession could go ahead in this lovely setting. I must add something to my “A is for Alte” post- it was beautifully done, with lavender strewn on the floor for the folk groups to walk over.
