‘Hello! You look interesting’.
Hard not to smile at such a nosy sheep. All his friends were busy devouring the lush green stuff. He wasn’t exactly skinny so he must have eaten his share and was feeling conversational. Me, I didn’t have anything better to do. I’d left the house feeling just a bit grumpy. Walking the same lanes over and again, albeit in a different sequence, really didn’t suit. But then I began to look around me.
Blossom in the trees, rich wonderful hues, with sunlight filtering through them. Sky, the merriest shade of blue. Grass as green as you’ll ever see, the first poppies just beginning to nod. A time to go hunting in the shade for tiny, compelling wild orchids, the birds all a-twitter as I make my discoveries. And I know how very lucky I am.

For there is a lady who my heart goes out to. Her time on this earth has been brutally curtailed, and yet she faces each day with warmth, grace and humour. Sue Vincent is an extraordinary lady. Each morning I tiptoe into my Reader to check that there is another post, for her days are surely numbered. A writer with great charisma and insight, she has taken me on many beautiful journeys in the short time I have known her. I have found myself tramping across moorland, touching with awe the standing stones that entrance her, and poking around in quiet village churches. I don’t even know if she’s been to my lovely Algarve, but I feel compelled to share, in her honour, some of the beauty that surrounds me.

I sadly have to amend this post today because lovely Sue lost her battle. I can only say what a privilege and an honour it was to share this space with her. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones. RIP, beautiful soul.

The links are few this week and I would not normally be posting a walk, but I think you’d understand if you met Sue.

Sometimes us walkers bite off more than we can chew. I think Graham was relieved to get home after this :
Fancy getting clarty ? Jude has the very place!
LadyLee has a much more relaxing pastime in mind :
Carol has some stories told on stone that I feel Sue would love, in a completely amazing place :
And Mel never runs out of energy!
Exploring the Sydney Coastline – Bondi to Manly Path – Stage 4, Darling Point to Kirribilli
Have a happy week! It’s all out there, just waiting for you.

You are in a beautiful part of the world, and so very glad to see that your grumps soon passed

We are! No doubt of that. We walked in the salinas with 2 friends this morning and had takeaway lunch here. 😊
If only family were happy and we could visit I would be ecstatic 🙄💕

I am amazed that someone so ill takes the time to blog (Sue, that is). I am not sure I would!

I know, Emma, but as I understand it there isn’t much left to her in the physical world, and her spirit is absolutely amazing. Go and say hello! 🙂 🙂

Thank you for the link to Sue so we can all send her our love and prayers.
What a pleasure to see all the spring blooms you passed! You may have started out grumpy, but it always helps to look around, especially when you can see all the colors of springtime. I love the sheep. So cute!

Lovely tour, Jo. The sheep photo at the top is priceless. It’s a worthwhile thing to give thanks for what we have when others have much more difficult issues to deal with. I’ve been thinking about that lately after hearing similar news about a friend and his son. All the best to you.

You are such a kind-hearted person. Love seeing your Algarve spring and very happy that you are free to visit the beaches again. I might even do that myself tomorrow. Not your beaches of course.

You need to get to the beach before the Easter hordes descend? No more garden visits booked? 🙂 🙂 We were at Barril (Anchor Graveyard) for just a short while yesterday but it felt wonderful.

I love that place, Anabel. We made an illicit trip there last week. A good hour’s walk for a few minutes stay, but so worth it. 🙂 🙂

I decided to join your walk this week and tie it in with the Sunday Stills Green challenge. I can’t offer you a beach but I do have a very big lake! https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/the-lewis-burn-inlet-walk-at-kielder-water/

After a dreary weekend, Monday blooms bright with sun and beckons me forth from the laundry room; so, after I get the first load started, I’ll take Charlie on a walk about the neighborhood. The word “leash” means just that, to him, and he hops with joy. No, Charlie is not a bunny but a Cocker Spaniel, but he sure can hop! Thank you for encouraging me to get on with it today. ~ Jo
