As I explained to Ann (Gallivanta) today, they live in a small village and rarely go beyond the nearest small town so they have little interest in cities. They’re just over protective. I was a bit surprised when Hubert, who worked in the UK for several years, said ‘I wouldn’t go to Lodz and I’m Polish!’ Seems to think it’s all scams and car thieves. ๐ I’m ok- don’t have a car!
Looks like a lovely place, I can’t understand why your Polish rellies were worried about you going there. Reading about it it seems they are welcoming foreigners with open arms.

You must email me! I may have been reading between the lines but I have the impression this visit was a bit too long for you. But as it was mainly for your dad to meet his family I guess needs must. I’m sure I have asked this before, but does your dad speak Polish still? I imagine you never forget your birth language, but it might get a bit rusty.

It was a little traumatic in places (and not only the head banging ๐ ) Yes- he speaks it but in very basic form. Miles ahead of me, alas.
