Windows, or doors?
Old, or new?
Real, or imagined?
But the hardest choice of all? Which challenge to enter! And I’m spoilt for choice this week, because Klara Bach has given me choices in Thursday’s Special. I’ve promised Dawn I’ll linger by a few more windows, and then there’s Norm’s Doors! I ask you- what’s a girl to do? Enjoy the challenge, I guess. I hope you do, too. Every picture tells a story! Do you have a favourite?

Lovely shots.

Multi-challenge entries don’t usually appeal to me, but you have a wonderful gallery here, Jo. On a completely different topic, does the “.me” after your name mean you’re from Maine? 🙂

Thanks a lot, Janet. 🙂 A bit like buses this week- they all came along at once. 🙂
I have yet to discover what the ‘me’ stands for! I upgraded to a Premium site just before Christmas and it was one of the options. Not that I would mind being from Maine. 🙂 I’m sure Dad could find Polish family there if he tried hard enough.

Hi Jo – I love all of these, but especially the first one. I think those pirates were flirting with you. 😉

I think those pirates are onto you Jo he is giving you a smile. I like the first photo, would love to know the story behind that dilapidated chest of drawers and are the flowers growing on top of it or has some one put them there??? Lovely evocative gallery makes the imagination go into overdrive.

They were a lot of laughs, Pauline, but I never did get a good shot of them. In the parade one of them was attached to an oversized puppet skeleton, and try as I might I didn’t get the photo I wanted. But a smile or two- yes 🙂 🙂 Loved that first door! Those flowers were literally growing through the walls. It was home to somebody once 😦

The dolls in the balcony were bit shocking to see 🙂 I can imagine they will be excellent for guarding the house at night 😀 Well spotted, Jo!

They did a good bit of swashbuckling in the parade, too, Indah 🙂 Happy weekend, hon! New life still suiting you, I hope?

I love those balconies with the pots of bougainvillea, but what I’d like to know is are those pirates real or imagined

Real pretend, if you know what I mean, Nicki. 🙂 I couldn’t resist putting them in this post, though they don’t fit so well. I was wandering through the art gallery cloisters while Carnival was on and they were ‘killing time’ before their appearance in the parade. 🙂

Very nice collection. I like the one that is chained shut. I’m not sure what it is, but I like it.

That one really caught my eye too, Dan. A quiet ramble in the streets of Faro and I just had to stop for it 🙂

How lucky are you to be spoiled with so many challenge choices and how lucky are we to enjoy the result. I especially love the doors and windows with the street art…and especially the one with the mother and child.

There was a lot of street art about, Lisa, but these were in a quiet little inland town so rather surprising. I loved the mother and child too 🙂 Thanks, darlin! The pirates send their best wishes 🙂

Lots to love there, I think my favourite is the wooden one with streaks of yellow. But what’s Johnny doing there, he didn’t tell me he was planning that trip! Oh and the one with the blue frame is gorgeous

Thanks, Gilly 🙂 I had a little fun with the pirates. They were in the cloisters of a former convent, would you believe? In Loule, during Carnaval. I was just moseying through and spotted them 🙂

You are the queen of cunning. And we’ve been told multi-tasking isn’t really feasible! Lovely shots – windows, doors and decay. I’m a particular fan of the clever “real or imagined” cluster.

I enjoyed my imagining, Meg 🙂 It was a bit of fun. I found some lovely ‘wall art’ in the Algarve this trip- more interesting stuff to come (but no more pirates 😦 )

It had that effect on me too! Would you believe that was in the cloisters of a former convent? It’s now an art gallery 🙂 This was during Carnival and the pirates had a starring part. Thanks a lot, Meg!

I’d probably find it hard to choose, but I do like variety, and there was no shortage on my last Algarve trip 🙂
