Six word Saturday

The star of our Spring garden

She’s a beauty, isn’t she?  I can’t think of a better compliment to a blue sky.  It’s turned rather chilly now, but I’ve sat beneath our Amelanchier on every possible occasion this Spring.  Join Debbie with a smile and Six Words this Saturday.

  1. Gorgeous set of photos Jo – must confess I hadn’t heard of amelanchiers before so I have just looked them up and apparently they have many names including sugarplum or wild plum (so that must be where the sugar plum fairy takes her name from?). The backdrop against the blue sky is so beautiful. Just put the link for my “walk” offering onto last week’s Monday Walk comments section. No problems if it’s too late for this week just whenever and hope you have a lovely weekend! 🙂

      1. No stress at all Jo it doesn’t matter at all if it’s held over for a week or two so please take your time to catch your breath! Sounds like you had a busy weekend – hope you have a great week too! 🙂

  2. Amelanchier’s are the most lovely trees, they give for so much of the year. Have you ever tried the fruit?
Unless you’ve pinched all the warm I doubt you’re sitting under it today, I’m a chilly Gilly down here. happy Sunday with hugs babe 🙂

    1. The sky really can’t make its mind up today, Pauline, but it does still look lovely. We’re off to Leeds soon, taking some things to James and hopefully time for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park this afternoon. 🙂 🙂

  3. I had to look up Amelanchier. It seems a common name is Serviceberry. (It’s drop-dead gorgeous, by the way)! I’m on a crusade to try to reduce the number of invasive species here at the new house at the edge of the forest and serviceberry is considered a native around here, so I may be searching for it in the coming months. Wouldn’t it be marvelous if it turned out to be as gorgeous as your specimen?
