Windows are delightful things and I have to confess to collecting more than my fair share on my travels. Looking out or looking in, I’m equally happy. You never know what you might find, do you?
On my visit to Shropshire this week I stayed in a wonderful old Arts and Crafts property, Arden House, in Church Stretton. Looking out of the windows I could hardly wait to get started on another adventure.
It has the nicest of country pubs, even if a malevolent wasp might be hiding beneath the plate, ready to pounce. What’s this chap doing up there, you might wonder? Trimming back the wisteria, I believe, in rather precarious fashion.
I don’t mind scaling the heights now and again myself, in search of a good view. Stokesay Castle was a prime example.
There will be more, of course, but for now let me reassure you that the swelling from the sting has stopped. I hope to have matching hands again in the near future. Meantime you are free to go and look at Paula’s unusual Windows, because Thursday’s Special. And maybe spare a thought for Dawn? I haven’t lingered at her monthly challenge in the longest time.
I’m glad I don’t have the job of trimming back the wisteria, Jo 😀 I hope your sting is a lot better now xxxx

It is thanks, Dianne. Forgotten about in the mix of twisted kneecap and bad back. Do you think my body is trying to tell me something? X

No I haven’t, but close, a friend lived in Kidderminster several years – but the west coast I know pretty well. 🙂

Ouch – I really can’t stand European wasps Jo 😦 They used to make summers a nightmare. We hardly have them here and if they are seen, they are a reportable pest and the councils have to come out and get rid of them! Hope your hand is well recovered now 🙂

How strange! 🙂 🙂 Just part of Summer, but I normally manage to give them a wide berth. Not too bad now, thank you.

We are lucky not to have them here Jo (or hardly at all, anyway)! I hated the way they came out whenever you had something sweet like an ice cream or fruit drink around. Remember getting stung on a beach in Wales once as a child – I screamed the place down! We just have to contend with the flies here! Glad you’re feeling better 🙂

Ah, Stokesay – I am still intending to write about that place. Such a lovely gatehouse and one we passed often! And I too have neglected Dawn in recent times. Must look up some windows!

I’ll race you to it, Jude! Writing, I mean, not the gatehouse- though that would be nice. 🙂 🙂 Mick might not agree because we did make a mess of getting around Brum on the way home, via Walsall and lots of exotic places. 🙂

Ouch! Brum is a shocker to get around, but I stick to the motorways even though they can be a nightmare too. The M42 / A42 on to the M1 would have been good for you. Too late now though!!
