Six word Saturday

I need to make some changes

Since my very first blog post it has been a point of honour with me to return all visits to my blog.  If people are kind enough to come to mine, then I feel I ought to reciprocate.  It’s common good manners, and by doing so I have met some wonderful people.  Unfortunately it has reached a level where the blog has a tendency to run my life instead of the reverse.

I’m not ready to relinquish the good friends that I’ve made, but I need a bit more leeway.  If you leave a comment, I will always respond, and I will always return the visit.  If you simply ‘like’ a post I can no longer guarantee to call on you.  I realise that this means that I may miss out on some great newcomers.  I can only hope they will stop to chat.

You might notice that I have adjusted my Comments box too.  No need to scroll down and down to leave your comment, but if you want to read the previous ones just click on ‘older comments’.

I know I’m far in excess of my six words this week, but I just had to get this off my chest.  The flowers are from an Open Garden event I attended in the Yorkshire village of Stanghow last weekend.  Off you go now to visit Debbie.  And have a great weekend!

  1. I’ve noticed your visits but lately life seemed to go off the rails for me. I honestly don’t know how folks keep up so I truly understand your dilemma. If you find the secret to this balancing act, do be kind enough to let me in on it! Love the lilies by the way! 😊

    1. Hi Gunta! 🙂 🙂 Thanks so much for your visit! I know I spend far too much time on the blogs. Not visiting ‘likes’ has freed up an enormous amount of time but I still feel guilty, as many are old friends. I noticed on your beautiful last photo that you’d closed comments, and that’s another option. Glad I got the opportunity to say here how very beautiful your photos are. At the end of the day the important thing is to live your life. Sending hugs!

  2. I have always been in awe of what you achieve in the blogging world when you also juggle so many walks, explorations and life as well. But am not surprised hear you share this.

I totally understand where you are coming from, and as you have gathered I have totally lost the plot when it comes to staying on top of my own blogs let alone visiting others in the past couple of months. The blogging world is amazing and I am so glad I found it as I have some wonderful friends now, but at the same time it is tough staying active here as well as in the real world.

Sending lots of virtual hugs (and love the flowers btw) and fingers crossed we can do a real meet up again soon xxx

  3. Your contribution to the blogging world is phenomenal and it is good of you to also be so clear about your interaction. I have had a bit of a ‘rest’ as I find Life is overtaking me with things to do here in Spain and the UK. Good to catch up with your posts though and see your wonderful walks. Too hot here except to virtually share this beautiful world!

    1. I’ve just come home from walking with some of my Algarve group, who are back in the UK over Summer. Lovely to see everyone again and nobody misses temperatures of 35C+. Thank you so much for your kind words. 🙂 🙂

    1. Almost every evening is taken up with responding, Elaine, a couple of hours every morning and some afternoons too. I do enjoy it but Summer goes by so swiftly and I don’t want to miss it. 🙂 🙂
