Six word Saturday

The life of a floral display

In Summer there are countless celebrations across the Algarve, but it’s always a delight to arrive and find the streets decked with paper flowers. Last Friday in Tavira all was splendour, but after the weekend came the slow process of deflowering. Β What better way to share than aΒ Collage?

It’s Saturday and yet again Debbie has six words to make you smile. Β Do go and join in! And have a great weekend!

  1. Oh no I knew it would be dangerous coming here and now I’m all soft and gooey with saudades for portugal. Need a strong cup of tea. Thanks Jo, and good to see you’re still at it! ForΓ§a to you, xx

  2. I love the paper flower displays Jo! I have some at home – we made some lovely pink ones tied up with silver pipe cleaners for our daughter’s baby shower (over 4 years ago!) and they are still sitting in vases. They never fade or drop their leaves either though I do love “real” flowers of course. Wishing you a happy weekend πŸ™‚

    1. That’s a nice thought, Rosemay. What a lovely memory! Bit hectic so far so I’ve declared a chill day today. Lunch to cook and probably watch the Wimbledon final later, and then I really must get the walk written. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

      1. A chill day sounds good Jo. Thanks for reminding me about the Wimbledon Final – may have to watch the highlights as it will be on late here. Would love Federer to win from a sentimental point of view. Have been watching a lot of the Tour de France (for the scenery!). Will catch up with you for a walk tomorrow – actually thinking about it today’s post is about a walk along Lake Geneva. I shall send you the link for next week’s walk. Have friends coming over for a sundowner in half an hour and better go and get ready! Enjoy the rest of your weekend πŸ™‚

  3. How delightful. Arrived home to find my garden has grown in a week! Spent the morning dead-heading, picking strawberries and sweetpeas and making tomato sauce! OH must have picked a hundred tomatoes and there are as many again still on the vine! Must try and mow the lawn before I head back north on Tuesday otherwise it will be impossible!

    1. Sounds like a nice way to spend a morning, though I’ve never made tomato sauce in my life. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ How long is the drive, Jude? Must be 4 or 5 hours! Look after yourself πŸ™‚

      1. Eek! I’m just putting dinner on so I can watch the match. Not with huge enthusiasm, I admit, but it’ll do as background while I make a start on tomorrow’s walk. Bit slow off the mark this week. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

      2. What a boring final that was. I often think the best matches are those that go before a final. Now: What am I going to do tomorrow!!

      3. I almost went into the garden instead but I needed to crack on with the walk. The mixed doubles were better. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the e, Jude. Thinking of you.

      4. I like watching the mixed doubles, they are fun, I find the men’s doubles too fast. Been some good women’s matches this year, better than a lot of the men’s other than that Nadal match which was mesmerising. No garden for me today as it has been misty and light rain on and off. Kept popping out to do a few things.

      5. Really? They seem to think it will be hot until Wednesday then thunderstorms. Donny was rather humid last week. I shall be packing an assortment of clothing!

      6. Any idea how long you’ll stay? I’ll be in Leeds next Saturday and I keep thinking it’s not far away, but I’ll be involved in a house move, which makes it tricky. I’ll write as soon as I finish this rather tricky walk. πŸ™‚

  4. I see they answered my request to give you a good welcome πŸ˜‰
How lovely, a well timed visit despite the heat. Not long until you return now, you’ll find the sky a bit grey if the north is like here. Enjoy sweetheart and have some weekend hugs x:-)x

    1. Hello sweetheart πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I got back late Thursday. I couldn’t post from the Algarve with no Wifi. I’ve been catching up on a bit of tennis this evening and it poured this morning. Zumba and a very funky Brass Band festival in Durham has kept me out of mischief. You busy? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  5. All the white gives it a very festive mood. I see you couldn’t help yourself putting a reflection photo in this collage as well! Nice. πŸ™‚
