Six word Saturday

The devil is in the detail

Mistress of the beach

Drifting, swirling on the tide.

Fronds that tease tiny fish

Then lie stranded on the shore-

A frothy, green petticoat.

Jen’s photo in the Weekly Photo Challenge this week is a real beauty.  I can’t hope to compete, but I did want to share with you a few of the details of my recent trip to the Algarve.  As half expected, it was unbelievably hot, and much of the time was spent with my toes in the water.

A weekend at home in the UK will be an entirely different prospect.  Perhaps I shall relish the cool.  Whatever your weekend brings, I hope it’s a good one.  Join me on Monday and we’ll find somewhere to walk.  But first, pop in on Cate with six words?

  1. Such lovely prose Jo! And The Algarve looks like it is experiencing the same temps that we are having here in Darwin. At least you had a beautiful, croc free beach. We don’t dare go in the water here 😱🐊

    1. I seem to have brought the heat back with me from the Algarve, Draco. 30C is most unusual in the UK! The trains stop running and everyone gets grumpy 🙂 🙂

    1. Morning lovely lady! 🙂 🙂 No escaping is there? It was 37 in Tavira 😦 What usually happens, Ad, is that when we get a heatwave the north east coast is swathed in coastal fog! I’ll let you know 🙂 🙂

  2. The beach looks marvelous Jo. I can almost feel the water on my feet. Hoping the transition back home is not too harsh weather wise. Have a great week ahead!

  3. Welcome back, Jo and I wonder if you didn’t bring some of the warmth with you as yesterday the hottest it has been so far! Lovely photos and poem, love the ‘frothy green petticoats’.

    1. Not long now, Carol 🙂 :I’m trying to persuade our English one to stay around a while. Yesterday was the perfect day- mid 20’s with a warm wind. I thought I was still in the Algarve but the scenery somehow looked wrong. 🙂 Back to normal today 😦
