Does this say Summer to you?
What do you think? Jude is asking for The Essence of Summer this month. Wonderful what you can do with a sunny hour or two, isn’t it?
Spot the intruder! This was going to be all about the Iris, but I was very taken with the Cersiums and I’m afraid they just sneaked in. Jude is busy in her new garden but she’ll make time to say hello.
Have a great weekend, and don’t forget Cate. Another, very busy lady. This is my 200th Six Word Saturday! Maybe I should quit while I’m ahead.
Yes, oh yes! Sadly they are all over here now…we had a terrible heat for a week that just swept them away.

I dimly remember heat 😦 😦

I consider the irises the Grande Dames of my garden – they are gorgeous. Loved these photos.

We don’t have any but I’ve been admiring them in ones and twos for a week or so. To have a whole swathe of them, like these, was fabulous, Noelle. 🙂

I only get a few per year – the soil here is terrible for most perennials. I miss living up north where I could grow anything!

It’s a lovely rose garden, not far from where we live, LolaWi. The irises were a lovely substitute for the roses. 🙂

It does say summer loud and clear and it is a lovely sight as we start to cool down over here. I even had a warm “cardy” type thing on today. Latest fad here is long, straight, almost to the knees cardigan…

Those 2 days were Summer, Pauline. 🙂 Out with the walkers this morning in soggy fog 😦

Soggy fog not good for photos, unless you are after atmospheric shots. Keep wrapped up and warm my restless friend

I absolutely adore iris. I have never seen the pale blue! Yes! They DO say summer to me, although mine came out in spring. 🙂

Hiya Debbie 🙂 I should have known you were an iris lady!

I’m tempted to say ‘what Summer?’ Suze, but that would be very negative, wouldn’t it? 🙂 The village had drizzly Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations today and we had 2 lovely days last week. That’s a start, isn’t it? Hugs 🙂 I bet you’re doing better!

I have the blue irises in my garden and when they appear I feel that summer is here. I love the other irises in your photos too – I don’t think I have seen that colour combination before.

There were some lovely bronze ones too, Elaine. My favourite was the blue because it was the palest I’ve ever seen. Fabulous! Summer? You jest 🙂 🙂

Perhaps we need to readjust our notion of summer! I’ve just noticed that my lovely blue irisis took a bit of a battering yesterday and all the flowers have died. I hope there are a few more to come.

If I adjust it any more I’ll be living in the Arctic. 🙂 The good news is, all was jolly in the village. What’s a few soggy scarecrows between friends?

Hello, what is this game about the saturday word ? I don’t have understood all explanations. Thanks in advance.

It’s a little strange, isn’t it? If you follow my link ‘Cate’ it will take you to this week’s entries. On the pink header is the link to the home page which explains. You need to use six words to describe your week, but you can do it any way you want, and take liberties as most people do (especially me 🙂 ). If you decide to take part, you go to ‘Cate’ and put your link for this week in as the next entry. Join in next week? 🙂

Your English is great! My school girl French extremely rusty! 🙂 The rules are very loose and you can interpret them any way you want. The idea is just to have fun, and meet a few people, of course. Nice talking to you. It’s wet here and I’m blogging between making Sunday lunch.

Thank you, Peta 🙂 This is a rose garden, newly opened last Summer. It was our first return visit since then and the irises were beautiful, taking away the bareness till the roses bloom.

grazie, buona domenica cara Giovanna
