Good time on a grey day
The sun doesn’t have to shine to make me happy. Being with people I love in a beautiful place does the trick too. Thursday had me slip-sliding about at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (in the wrong shoes, again!) But it was worth it when I found the rhododendrons in full flower in the woods.
I will be taking you there on one of my Monday walks, but I just had to share this beauty. I half wondered if it would qualify as a wildflower for Jude’s Garden Challenge. Then I decided it didn’t really matter. She’ll love it anyway.
Happy Bank Holiday weekend to all you Brits! Hope you find some sunshine somewhere. Cate is having problems at Six Word Saturday.
Such beauty.

Love the title – reminds me of ‘Great day for a white wedding!’ Beautiful photo, the colour is stunning. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We camped in the New Forest and apart from the usual misadventures – naturally! – we had a lovely time… 🙂 xx

Pink perfection! We could do with some rain Jo. It is agonisingly hot and humid. The ‘Hell’ part of our ‘Hot, Hotter, Hell’ weather 😦

It is drizzling rain and grey outside my window as I type this. Your photo certainly does brighten the day.

Beautiful flowers! Rain or shine, a bit of color is always smile-worthy! Have a great long weekend, Jo, Here, we will “celebrate” memorial day with friends. Unfortunately, the forecast for Sunday and Monday is 100% rain and thunderstorms. Luckily, spring has finally arrived here and there are some pretty flowers – color! – in the garden! 🙂

Thanks, sweetheart 🙂 A bit of washing to do and Sunday lunch of course, then I plan on being lazy till tomorrow teatime. I shall let my fingers do the walking because we’ve had our sunshine for the weekend and it’s all downhill now. Hugs to you and Jack! 🙂

Oh, yet another gorgeous bloom we don’t grow here because it’s not cold enough. They do grow further south though. Looking forward to your next walk.

My dad wanted to take me to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on my last visit Jo but we didn’t have time so will be very interested to read all about it tomorrow! Such a pretty shot of the pink rhododendrons 🙂 Hope the sun comes out soon and have a lovely Bank Holiday long weekend 🙂

There I go confusing the world again, Rosemay! I’m intending to carry on with my Polish walks tomorrow, otherwise I’ll never get through them all, but at some point I’ll be showcasing YSP. Or maybe I should do it tomorrow? Now I’ve confused me too! 🙂 🙂 On a sunny day it would have been heaven, but our son wanted to see the KAWS exhibition, which finishes soon. I’ll definitely go back in the Autumn, when it should be sensational. Thanks darlin’ 🙂 One sunny day down, two grey ones to come 😦

I didn’t mean to confuse you Jo – another Polish walk will be lovely 🙂 I know what you mean as I was going to do my recent trip chronologically so started off in London but now think I’ll do the Lake Como trip next whilst it’s fresh in my mind! Then go back to the Uk, then Berlin and there are a few Perth posts I still want to do …decisions, decisions! Whatever you do the posts will be lovely 🙂 Hope the grey days soon pass and the sun comes out again! 🙂

Lovely flower, Jo! We are enjoying Memorial Day weekend here – the official start to the summer. Nice today but we have a tropical storm dumping rain on us Sunday and Monday. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks, Noelle. 🙂 After an unexpectedly warm and sunny one yesterday we’re back to universal grey, and I suspect your rain is coming this way. One out of 3 is about the norm 🙂 🙂 Enjoy!

Beautiful flower, Jo! 😀 The right shoes are a necessity. We went for a drive after lunch one day and hubby decided in his wisdom to stop at Mt Kosciusko. He then thought it would be good to go for a walk half way up the mountain. I had on my heels and was so slow I was overtaken by an old man using a walking frame. Wrong shoes! 😀

The silly thing was, I’d brought the sensible shoes, Dianne. They were in the car boot! But I thought we were sticking to paths. Foolish me! 🙂
