Well, you knew it was going to happen, didn’t you?  There was never any doubt that I’d find a few interesting windows in Glasgow. The difficulty will be knowing where to stop!  The Willow Tea Rooms were a treat for the eyes and other parts too.

I didn’t have time for ‘the works’ but I can vouch for the whisky and sultana slice.  I’d better do this in gallery form, or we’ll be here all day!  Just click on any photo, as usual.

Here I go, down the stairs from the tea room
There’s a tea room squeezed in on Buchanan St. too
And the Princes Shopping Centre comes highly recommended
Opposite stately windows like this
How about a hint of reflection?
Or lots! And soggy people too.
And a few folks hanging about
But these guys were still cheerful in the rain

I came across all kinds of architecture, as you would in a city.

Some very colourful
Or some with just a hint of colour
Some for fashionistas
Or the young at heart
Some, more ‘old school’
And some on neglected old buildings
Like Kingston Halls
One I even spotted for a friend. Hi Jude!
And even one with a subterranean Dalek!
And a beauty on a building site

But the saddest window of all?  The view from the coach, going home.

  2. I’m amazed you much you really manage to see and capture during the short time you where in Glasgow. I wish you had time to go inside the Princes Shopping Centre, but it’s a beautiful building outside too. Fantastic gallery again … of course.
    I’m really passionate about Glasgow … will become 1/4 of a Swedish millionaire in 5 days time, so time to do a serious bucket list. *smile

      1. Jo, not so much in £ …. but converted into SEK – it gives 11 times more. Glad it wasn’t the other way around.
        Yes, I have really worked hard and long for the money and there was a hick up with the payment, because I had filled in the form wrongly, so likeness me.
        So over email with Julie … it’s no sorted and she has made the payment today.
        Now there is a big chance that .. I will pop up in Portugal. *smile 1/4 millionaire hug …

  3. I can see you need to return to Glasgow Jo. You did well for a short visit but it sounds like you’d relish all the Charles Rennie Mackintosh places, I stayed a week last year and was still sad to leave. Gorgeous pics too!

      1. That is sometimes the most prudent way! I do not go into shops I cannot afford. HOWEVER, give me an arty creative shop and I am sunk !

    1. I think you get this mix in most of our cities, Jackie, but Glasgow is definitely meeting the future head on while hanging on to some of the nicer bits of its past. Long may it continue. 🙂

  19. The teahouse windows have some delectable treats inside, enough to lure me in for sure. I love all the Glasgow windows, especially the fancy Princes Shopping Center. It sounds like it was a fun trip, Jo!

      1. I’ve been having some fun this weekend, Jo, and I’m heading off to Baltimore this morning for a Pirateer Festival. Ahoy, matey! I’ll hopefully be able to post some this afternoon. You know all my time is consumed with job search (fruitless!) and novel editing (and cutting – got rid of 24 pages this week!) The finish line for that novel is drawing near, finally. 🙂
